Default My Sister is Shameless

My sister is getting married in a couple months on a bluff overlooking Lake Michigan. Anyways they set up a website for the wedding and the have the nerve to put this on it.

We will not take responsibility for the following:

Your Ice Cream falling off it's cone
Sand between your toes
The Carferry horn waking you from a peaceful nap on the beautiful shores of Lake Michigan

Can you believe the nerve of her and her fiance. Who do they think they are? People are coming in half way across the country and they have the never to say this. What is her deal anyways.

It's been my experience that weddings can do funny things to people.

On an unrelated subject, I have a question for Red Wings fans who may know the answer:

How come team owner Mike Ilitch refuses to recognize the retirement of Larry Aurie's #6 (which was retired by former Red Wings owner James Norris following the 1938-39 season)?

I have wondered that myself. I don't know the whole story, but from what I understand from what I have read about the situation is that his number was officially retired up until when Norris sold the team to Illitich. Even though the number is not hanging from the rafting, which by the way I think it should be, the number is out of circulation as out #'s 2 and 16.

We all know that Wiki is less than reliable but this is what they have to say about his number.

Quote:
Aurie's No. 6 jersey was officially retired by Wings owner James Norris after the 1938–39 season, and his retired jersey was displayed in the Olympia Stadium lobby during the 1960s. However, current Red Wings owner Mike Ilitch has for some unknown reason refused to hang Aurie's No. 6 from the rafters at Joe Louis Arena with the other six retired numbers. Aurie's No. 6 was reissued only once, to his cousin Cummy Burton, with the family's blessing.

Aurie's No. 6 had been listed as retired in the Official NHL Guide and Record Book since 1975, when retired sweater numbers began being featured in the book. At the time, three numbers were listed as being retired by Detroit: Aurie's No. 6, Gordie Howe's No. 9 and Alex Delvecchio's No. 10. Before the 2000–01 season, Ilitch ordered the number removed from the publication - again without explanation. His refusal to honor Aurie properly remains a mystery to the hockey world. There are many theories, but nothing firm has ever come from the front office, or Ilitch himself
