Default So if Democrats lose Virginia, Jersey, and New York, what impact does it make?

Or say they lost 2 out of 3. 2 out of 3 ain't bad.

But does it mean that in the era of Obama, people are less likely to be persuaded by his appearances and pleads now? Is it a precursor to another election in 2010 where Obama's name will not be on any of the voting ballots and people will tend to ignore his shenanigans?

Margins depend as well. If the Republican in Virginia wins by 5-6% that isn't necessarily a repudiation of Obama, if he wins by 10-11% more so.

Probably none at this point.
I'm sure the White House will marginalize the people that voted to oust any Democrat. They will be vilified and called bad names and the MSM will tell you to ignore these results, that they are just an aberration by a bunch of misguided rednecks.

Well if nothing else, the Dems have shown their hand on how they are going to attack and campaign against a more conservative leaning Republican party/Conservative candidates - you're already seeing it in NY23.

IIRC Obama won the popular vote by 5-6% and it was deemed a repudiation of the Republican Party.

NY23 has been solidly GOP for decades, a dem winning it would have been a disaster for GOP.... Not the other way around.

VA is still very conservative. Winning the Gov helps GOP.

NJ is similar to NY23 except it's reversed. Dem's must win.

I'll take the win. And I'll gloat over it. I will smear wins all over my conservative body.

After all the crap libs have pulled on us, hell's bells I'm ready to jam it back.

And I've worked on Hoffman. And that man deserves not only to win but to be cheered to the finish line.

You give too much credit to the White House. You have the President looking like he is nothing short of stoned out lately, and Axelrod and Emanuel can't control the beastie they set loose.

This is great.

And with good reason, that was a light red state. But Virginia usually elects a Governor from the party not in the White House.
So if McDonnell wins a modest victory I wouldn't read too much into it, but if he wins a landslide then I think it's safe to say Obama's policies received a strong rebuke.

The NY district hasn't gone Democrat since the advent of electric light (or close to it), so I don't really see that as having anything to do with the current administration.

And someone else pointed out that the margin is as important as the victory...if Christie beats Corzine by 10, THAT'S a repudiation of liberal policies in NJ. If he beats him by 1%...
