Girl Wins Pageant at Hampton University in VA...so why write Obama a letter?
I thought this was interesting for the simple fact that Sharpton and Jackson are all over racism if it is against a black person...so where are they now? Where is all the outrage about racism? That being said...good for Hampton University.

A university student has provoked a race storm after she was crowned as the first white winner of a beauty pageant at a predominantly black university.
Nikole Churchill claimed she was subjected to racial abuse after she won the pageant at Hampton University in Virginia.
She was so outraged that she wrote to U.S. President Barack Obama complaining of her treatment, saying: ‘I feel as though you could relate to my situation’.

Hampton University is one of around 80 ‘black’ universities in the U.S., initially founded to promote diversity and education among minorities.

The five judges crowned her over the nine other contestants – all of whom were black. She was the first white woman to win the title at the university.
But the backlash began almost immediately, with some of the audience walking out of the auditorium as the announcement was made. In a traditional winners’ photograph, two of the black runners-up are seen scowling into the camera.
The next day Ms Churchill was heckled at a university football game. Previous winner Patrece Parson said she was ‘very shocked’ at the judge’s choice of a white woman, adding: ‘We’ve never had one before’.
Ya think the Sharpton’s and Jackson’s would of been in front of the nations camera’s if the roles had been reversed?
White’s walking out of a auditorium because a black woman won the contest…..oh boy, I could just hear the shrill cries of racism.
But no big deal when it’s a white person being the victim.
Racism exists and will exist until the human race is no more. But to deny, or minimize, the racism that occurs by some races, while over-emphasizing some others, does nothing to help get rid of the problem.
This is racism, plain and simple. And what do the blacks do at the college? Explain it away.
It's been established that racism from blacks against whites cannot exist.
Only whitey is racist.

This is certainly a step in the right direction. I think Hampton University has taken a major step towards a solution. Everyone must participate, or all of the efforts put forth so far will fail. Kudos to Hampton!

You are very correct. I am completely sick and tired of the reverse racism in this country. Along with so many hypocritical Blacks out there.
Kudos for the judges in that competition for their decision. For everyone else, the ones hazing Ms. Churchill and everyone alloowing it to go on, they can all go to...well put in your own word here. Blacks all want equality and to be treated with respect but they have no urge to give any equality or respect back. HEY...you gotta eran respect, not demand it.
Those at Hampton University have no class and will never get any respect from me.
Come on Sharpton or Jackson, if you are not a racist then step up to the plate and prove it!

I think harassing that girl, walking out when she was crowned, and any negative comments uttered by folks is wrong.
I'm black and I endorse my message.
I've also heard from more than a few alumni of the school that they thought the same as I did.
While we all understand the surprise of some at this win, we do NOT endorse and DO condemn anyone making any negative comments against this girl.
I will talk to some that I know on the campus this week and see what is the general opinion of the student body, not just the bitter, angry, jealous, ones with low sense of self.
