Default Campaign for Liberty.

Tuesday night, my brother and I attended one of their meetups in our town. We went there to get an idea of what they talk about and the ideas that they have to get their message. My brother and I do disagree with Dr. Ron Paul on foriegn policy, however, we attended with an open mind to hear what they had to say. Part of the reason we went, is because we are on their mailing list to see what their agendas and conversations are about. Well we jumped in conversation in email about foriegn policy. We were attempting to explain about geopolitics and how they affect what we do globally. After a few email exchanges, we were invited to attend.

Now this is where things go a little different than we expected.

After arriving, the head of the group began talking about the usual business and such. Covered some of the things that their group has been doing over the past few weeks. After that, the host mentioned the emails back and forth and gave my brother and I an opportunity to speak.

We started to explain the ideas of geopolitics and how they affect us and every country out there. During this time, someone brought up Israel. This is where things went REALLY crazy. These people started saying the most anti-semite things you can imagine. They were saying the Jews are ruining the world with their Zionism and how Isreal runs our country. I mean literally going into the conspiracy of Zionist Occupation Government. My brother and I felt like we were in 1938 Nazi Germany with the things these people were saying. It was amazing that these people felt this way. 2 of the attendants were my co-workers and they were in agreement with the host. I had no idea I was working with people who actually felt this way. It was literally anti-jew hate these people were spouting.

Next item, they are ALL believers of the "9/11 was an inside job" conspiracy. No matter what facts and evidence we gave, we were wrong and they were right. Then they go into how Hugo Chavez is doing great things down in Venezuala by having complete control of the country and its people. My brother and I just sat there in shock at the things these people were saying. They think that people in the military are Universal Soldiers and only die for money, not country.

I know my writing is a little inconsistent but I am just covering the main issues that really got to us. These people were all about anarchy,anti-semitism and pro-conspiracy everything.

Well after doing a little research into other C4L groups across Texas and some other states, it seems these beliefs are a common trend. Now I am sure not everyone that is a member of C4L is like this, but man, the ones I have met and tlked to over the phone are like this. What gets me, is, that Dr. Paul himself denounces these ideas but yet attracts those who don't. I was under the impression that this group was about getting their message of limited government, low taxes and individual liberties out to others to increase their grassroots members.

I had no idea it is the complete opposite.

I hate truthers but the issue with Israel for the ones I've met ,including myself,is we don't hold Israel any higher than any other country,we don't think they should get foreign aid or any other country for that matter and we do;for the most part;believe that the Jewish Lobby is strong and powerful and has way too much of a grip on our policies. If that makes me anti Semite,(which I don't think it does)oh well.

John, you are a good guy. We have spoken privately before. I understand your position on Israel, but disagree. However, that is NOT the way this group feels locally. They truly believe in the Zionist Occupation Government conpsiracy and blame Jews for everything wrong within our country. I wish I would have recorded the event Tuesday.

While those people definitely exist in the movement, those kind of people also exist in other movements.

It is unfortunate that they are so vocal about their nonsense, they give a lot of us a bad name.

Why is that though? I mean the things some of the members believe, is totally the opposite of Dr. Paul. So what exactly about him attracts these people?

For the record, I do NOT believe all of his supporters are like this, just the ones I know from the group and other C4L members across the state I have spoken too.

Despite their crazy views, they like Paul since he is for less government and more freedom. People of all backgrounds can find more freedom appealing.
