Default Stopping disinformation, silencing dissent...

If liberal democrats have no problem with the whitehouse asking citizens to snitch on one another, why doesn't the republican party put this on their website:

Quote:
There is a lot of disinformation about the Republican party out there. These rumors often travel just below the surface via chain emails or through casual conversation. Since we can’t keep track of all of them here at the GOP, we’re asking for your help. If you get an email or see something on the web about the Republican party that seems fishy, send it to flag@gop.gov.
The resulting uproar will prove, once and for all, just how big of a hypocrite the average liberal is.

And why stop there?

If we are going to ignore the intent of the first amendment, ignore all privacy laws, let's set up websites asking people to turn in war dissenters, communist sympathizers, and people who support abortion.

Can you see WHY we don't want to travel down this road?

I see it as a good idea and a great way to make a profound point - even including "war dissenters, communists, and people who support abortion".

The loudest uproar would be if we asked for snitches to turn in all the pot smokers.

From the Libertarian website:

Quote:
“Libertarians find it ironic a community organizer is now using the government to try and to stop people from organizing their communities. Instead of using official edicts to smear, slander and intimidate everyday Americans into silence, Democrats should listen to the majority of Americans and drop their plans for a radical government takeover of their health care.

“Libertarians call on President Obama to issue a public apology to the millions of independent-thinking Americans his administration has slimed, to call off his plans to compile the flag@whitehouse.gov enemies list and to end the Democrats’ use of government power to silence dissent.”

I wish the Republican Party would release a similar statement.

They did make a video, but words have power!

It wouldn't even be a big deal if the RNC or DNC put out a message like that. The problem is that it's the White House. The government is not allowed to do things like that. What makes it so unsettling is that they don't just ask for people's concerns, they ask for e-mails.

A few weeks ago some conservative mentioned that Obama has never lost anything and that if he lost on health care, it would be interesting to see how he reacted. Obama knows he's losing and he's becoming unhinged. He's attacking American citizens and asking for private e-mails. I think Obama has derailed.

I dunno....getting into the gutter with them, just puts us in the gutter with them.

We, as a whole, have more class and knowledge/love of the first amendment then they can ever understand.

Let them show their disdain for America in every way they know how.....it only makes them stand out like a zit on prom night.
