My opinion is based on the facts thus far released in this case.
And, when a self-proclaimed-Palestinian-Muslim-Quran-dispensing psycho screaming "Allahu Akbar" shoots 43 innocent Americans in cold blood,
I don't see any description possible other than Islamic Terrorist.
We should go back to Major Hasan's words and actions to determine what his misguided motives were. I know many good Muslims, many serving our country, and many in harms way.
We need to take a roundturn on radical Islam and find out the hows and whys that moderates are turned into lunatics (like Major Hasan).

officers like peters get people killed with their incompetence and poor judgment
What exactly did Peters say that was incorrect. And, what errs in his judgement made him incompetent? I really do not understand your misplaced anger toward him other than he has spoken out against radical islam.
We are all on the same side, aren't we?

"He obviously didn’t want to go," said Duane Reasoner, 18, who looked up to Hasan as a sort of religious mentor. "He said he shouldn’t be going to Iraq, and Muslims shouldn’t be in the military — it was an obvious conflict of interest. Muslims shouldn’t be killing Muslims. He told me not to join the military."Reasoner said he wouldn't condemn Hasan after the shooting spree.
“I don’t know his intentions," Reasoner told FoxNews.com. "I don’t know what he was thinking. I won't condemn another Muslim.”

Peters has advocated attacking non-combatants and further advocated dismissing the Geneva Convention by "winning dirty."
While this may make him a hero among some, I cannot respect a former officer who advocates these things.
Quote:
The point of all this is simple: Win. In warfare, nothing else matters. If you cannot win clean, win dirty. But win. Our victories are ultimately in humanity’s interests, while our failures nourish monsters
Although it seems unthinkable now, future wars may require censorship, news blackouts and, ultimately, military attacks on the partisan media.
