Really? According to the actual record, the district has been represented by a Democrat 17 times since Grant. What: Have you been listening to MSNBC again?

I don't what you mean by that. I'm a conservative, not a Republican and to the best of my knowledge, we ran exactly one candidate in that race. Didn't the Republican quit a few days ago and through her support to Owens? That sure as hell wasn't any candidate I would have supported.

This is the first time moderates have been "freaked out" since indoor plumbing? I don't think so. "Moderate" is a euphemism for "pants wetter."

I never accused any liberal, candid or otherwise, of being particularly adroit at political gamesmanship, so I'll suspend my concern until the regular election next year.

Too bad Scuzzyflava wasn't removed from the ballot though.
So I guess Palin took a beating in NY-23?

Because it gained them one more vote in the House, where the opportunity existed for the Republicans to gain two.

Governorships are important, but they equal zero votes at the Capital.

It shows the difficulty of running on a third party ticket. Whatever one thinks of parties, it does have an organiztion in place to do things such as get out the vote. Hoffman did not have enough time or money to set it up. That's why it is easier to take over a established party the way Reagan did. Then when you have it, you don't give it back which is what he did when he selected Bush as VP.

Its such a huge win for dems because its the first time since the civil war that a dem has controlled that district's seat in congress, says Pelosi. You learn something new everyday. I never knew the civil war happened between 1979-1993 the last time a democrat held that seat?

Heck of a lot of Beck chattering with the Hoffman. All those interviews, all that talk, sure was one swell 'non-endorsement.' lol

Scazzafavva was to the left of Owens, so this is still better than if nothing had been done at all. And if Owens really doesn't vote for ObamaPelosiCare (since it has several points in it that Owens said he would not vote for, and i'll take a US Armed Serviceman at his word, at least until he shows I can't) then he will end up well to the right of Scazzafavva.
