I've got Ford products.
Specifically a Crown Vic and a Grand Marquis (they're essentially the same car).
Always been a Ford man, mainly because my Granddad worked at the Ford Plant in Dallas for 35 years. When I was growing up, every year I got to go to the yearly company picnic and factory tour. Made an impression on me, I guess.
These big cars offer great benefits:
• Safety - they are among the safest cars on the road for passengers
• Mileage - Even with a V-8 I get about 25 mpg on the highway
• Affordable - You can buy a very good used Crown or Marque cheap
• Comfort - Its a living room on wheels, man
• Driveablility - When people see you coming up in their rear view mirror, they get out of the way
Always had a Toyota and a Honda. But no more Toyotas. Toyotas now have a deadly glitch and a nest of electronic gremlins in their computerized, electronically-controlled throttle system which is causing many of them to runaway due to unintended and sudden acceleration. Toyota owners feel very uncomfortable while driving them.
Toyota says if unintended and unwanted rapid acceleration happens, to just put the shift lever into neutral, coast down, stop and get out the vehicle. Fine! But according to many reports from consumers it doesn't always work. They say the engine is reving so fast that it won't go into neutral. And if the ignition switch is turned off while driving, all power steering and brakes are lost.
And Toyota dealerships are not being cooperative in this matter. They don't won't to discuss it and are rude, hostile, intimidating and insulting.
I don't know about the bells and whistles but that was the sale price. That's why my jaw dropped. I've been in the car business long enough to have a pretty good idea of what most brands customarily go for. I didn't notice if it was a cash deal or had a lien so interest rates aren't involved.

Toyota! No más! No Más!
Sounds reminiscent of the 1986 60 Minutes hit piece on Audi and "unintended acceleration". Darn near put the dealership I worked at out of business and there wasn't a shred of proof offered. Of course, Audi did a poor job of defending itself.

I get the feeling that someone pulled a fast one. The only way I can think of that a Genesis Coupe would go for over $30k would be if you had an interest rate of well over 6%. and put all the optional equipment on in it.

2008 GMC Sierra. Got it last year brand new for a steal. What we paid for it a year ago is still under the low blue book today. I love it.
2008 Nissan XTerra. Great run-around car. Good back seat room. Nice off road handling.
1995 Chevy Silverado -- good condition -- hubby put some wood sides on it to make the bed higher, and he uses it when he goes and chops firewood so he can bring home a bigger load.
1997 Mazda pick-up. 200,000 trouble free miles -- one tune-up, new tires and brakes when needed. On its original battery.
We live in an area that is prone to severe weather, bad roads, etc. 4 wheel drives are a must. Our area is always being used for car commercials for "extreme" driving conditions.
Currently, 2007 Ford Focus SES and 1997 Saturn SL w/ manual everything, including steering..ugh. Not good when driving around parking garages 4 times a day.
In college I drove a 1968 Mustang GT. Awesome car. Had more perks than the Saturn and talk about "Git up and Go"!!
My first car was a bright orange Pinto Wagon I bought for 50 bucks. My dad made me get rid of it because it was a death trap. I sold it to a middle aged lady for $150.
I have also had:
Dodge Colt, Pontiac Sunbird, Buick Le Sabre, Plymouth Fury, (aka "the green Christine") Ford Taurus, F150 (2), Monte Carlo (2), Vega, Cadillac Seville, Ford E150 High Top Custom Van, Citation, Buick Regal and an Olds 88.
I really want a '72 Hemi Cuda AND a '72 Gran Torino.
.......... hey I can dream.
