Pence lies about Ohio waiting lists; Kasich not a happy camper
http://www.dispatch.com/news/2017071...-dubious-claim
“I know Gov. (John) Kasich isn’t with us, but I suspect that he’s very troubled to know that in Ohio alone, nearly 60,000 disabled citizens are stuck on waiting lists, leaving them without the care they need for months or even years,” Pence asserted."
and
"But the Kaiser Foundation — the source of the 60,000 figure cited in the argument — also refutes any connection between the expansion and the waiting list (of those who need a Medicaid waiver to obtain services, usually adminstered by counties), noting the list has remained roughly the same for years despite the relatively recent Medicaid expansion."
good lord, doesnt Pence know anything about how to pass a bill.
YOu don't piss people off who you want to pass your POS bill.
The Ohio waiting list has NOTHING to do with Medicaid expansion.
Yet there is the Veep spouting off lies.
Looks like the top spot is starting to rub off on him.

So, what are the 60,000 on a list for?...
We are so lucky to live in the USA, and during an inter-glacial warming period with
President Donald J. Trump as President

What Politifact reported him to say:
Note that part of the statement that was attributed to Pence was in fact a synopsis made by Politifact...and that was not the only way Pence's statement could be interpreted.
Do not accept Politifact as political fact.
I thought the same thing. They are reporting on their quote not his.. Must be counting on the poor reading comprehension of the left.

"The state Cabinet for Health and Family Services told us that between Oct. 1, 2013, and April 15, 2014 — the open enrollment period — 413,410 Kentuckians enrolled in health coverage through Kynect. Of those, 330,615 qualified for Medicaid coverage and 82,795 bought private insurance. Three-quarters of all those signing up indicated they had been uninsured prior to getting coverage through the website."
AND
http://www.webmd.com/health-insuranc...acare-report#1
"States that expanded Medicaid under the ACA, also known as Obamacare, were most likely to see big declines in their uninsured rates. But even states that didn't expand the program saw large shares of their residents gain health insurance."
obamacare is a flawed plan but no one can say that it has not helped poor people previously uninsured get health insurance.

It's actually kind of fascinating what a big political stick Kasich swings.

Nope. Still ambiguous. It could just mean that the money could be used on the 60,000 and improve their situation...not that there were fewer people waiting in line before Obamacare.
NOt saying it did...not saying it didn't.

This is such an ignorant or dishonest argument.
Obamacare has put far too many able-bodied adults on the Medicaid rolls,
leaving many disabled and vulnerable Americans at the back of the line,
What is he saying has left many at the back of the line? The ACA putting able-bodied adults on Medicaid rolls. I.e. Medicaid expansion.

But he didn't use those exact words, and so now zantax has a purpose to his week.

Sigh...he specifically mentioned "waiting lists".
