I'm curious what you all think. This thread is not assuming Pence will be sworn in, of course. Never is always an option.

Pence is deeply entangled in virtually everything Trump has done. There's almost no scenario in which Trump gets impeached and Pence comes out unscathed.

November 8th, 2017- on the anniversary of the election Just coincidentally. Oh and Trump will resign after impeachment but before conviction- just like Nixon.

Nixon resigned before impeachment, not after.

Yep, his 'honeymoon" will last about half an hour.

Already I see a lot of anti Pence sentiment and claims Pence is just as bad, even though he served in the House for at least a decade and a term as Governor of Indiana, all scandal free and without any connection to Trump (as far as we know) until he was picked to run with him last summer.

By the end of the year. Enough republicans will see how badly Trump is damaging the party to vote him out in order to get Pence in there. It has to happen far enough in advance of the 2018 midterms to give Pence time to help mend some bridges.

I personally don't like Pence at all so this isn't me saying he'll be any good but he isn't going to **** all over the reelection prospects of the 2018 candidates like Trump is doing.

Even if Trump completes his term, he may decline to run again. He'll be 74 by then.
