    Default Trumpcare 2.0

With the orange joke desperate for some kind of accomplishment in his first 100 days, it looks like Congress will take another shot at Trumpcare next week.

Seeing some reports that negotiations with the Freedom Caucus are going to bring over some more of their members but it remains to be seen how much support the new bill has among moderates.

The Democrats have been terrible when it comes to pushing Single Payer.

Right now though the GOP is in charge and they get the credit or the blame for whatever comes next.

"Despite what you hear in the press, healthcare is coming along great. We are talking to many groups and it will end in a beautiful picture!"
    - Donald via Twitter

"I will give you everything. I will give you what you've been looking for for 50 years. I'm the only one." - Donald

Our Donald, who art in Mar-a-Lago
    Sallowed be thy complexion

Thy Kingdom come, thy profits won
In DC as they are in New York

Give us this day our Trumpcare 2.0
And forgive us our doubts, as we forgive thee thy ***** grabbing

And lead us not into global thermonuclear war
    But deliver us from liberals

Funny how you consider it insurance (and one we desperately need access too) when it labeled a "catastrophic plan", how convenient.

So the big change seems to be that it will allow states to opt out of preexisting condition requirements and a lot of the other ACA protections. So just like red states refused to expand medicaid, this will basically allow red states to further exercise their hatred for the poor and sick and gut the ACA within their states while blue states would be free to maintain it.

Of course it does. Paul Ryan has been waiting for open season on poor people for years. Now it's finally his chance and he is locked and loaded.

As Trump yelled out to his Rally Supporters, "And Who is going to pay for the wall?" and the crowd yelled back, "Mexico!" and cheered!

Looks like the freedom causus is now on board.

Only thing remaining to figure out is whether enough moderate R reps will allow poor sick people in their states to be shafted.

Basically the country's healthcare system is screwed and partisanship from all sides will prevent any changes to the existing law. Got to love this headline from mintpress which I think sums it up in a nutshell.

Obamacare Is A Failure, But It Will Only ‘Explode’ If Trump Sabotages It

So damn if you do, damn if you don't.

Ooh fingers crossed, they may be able to get a completely ceremonial bill that will never pass the Senate through the House. Maybe. On the fourth (fifth?) try.

Dems have no solutions...Won't even talk about it. Trump hate is all they got.
Republicans don't need dems to offer any solutions, they have the ability to pass whatever they want using Senate rules.

Little problem with that. They don't want to be on the hook alone for causing the fallout. So instead they whine and complain the dems won't help them. You won the elections, you control Congress and the white house. As so often is posted here, elections have consequences. In this case those consequences are that you actually have to govern, and then get yourself prepared to get thrashed at the polls if you piss enough people off.

I wonder what they're getting in exchange for that?

The article quotes the FC as saying they're upholding their promise to lower health care costs? How is this going to do that?
Trump supporters have space bugs in their heads. It is the only explanation.
