Angry Disability USA-Rampant fraud in the federal disability program

    http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-18560_16...isability-usa/

"Today, it serves nearly 12 million people -- up 20 percent in the last six years -- and has a budget of $135 billion. That's more than the government spent last year on the Department of Homeland Security, the Justice Department, and the Labor Department combined. It's been called a "secret welfare system" with it's own "disability industrial complex," a system ravaged by waste and fraud. A lot of people want to know what's going on. Especially Sen. Tom Coburn of Oklahoma."

    Anyone watch 60 minutes tonight?

The report drops tomorrow and investigations so far report they "randomly selected hundreds of disability files and found that 25 percent of them should never have been approved -- another 20 percent, he said, were highly questionable."

This is going to be ugly and there are some lawfirms and layers and hopefully some citizens going to jail for fraud.

Best solution: no delegated power for this thing so end it.

If you tear it down, they cannot come.

I have 2 neighbors, one across street and one couple doors down, both collecting disability and doing carpentry and landscaping work for side cash, makes me so mad.

I say prosecute all of the cheaters to a long sentence of hard labor.

One of my guilty pleasures is occasionally watching Judge Judy. (yeah yeah).
It amazes me how many of these losers are on some kind of disability so they don't have to work.
Due to arthritis I was down to using a walker in the last year of it and every minute was excruciatingly painful. Not once did I consider quitting and going on disability.

End of story: Artificial hips did the trick.

Pretty sure there is a show based around this called Shameless.

I caught part of the program tonight ... there was this crazy stat about these areas on the KY/WV border where like 25% of the people there were on disability. Unreal.

The reverse is also true: If somehow the report didn't fit neatly into the "people on welfare are leaching off the system!" playbook, it would be dismissed as liberal media propaganda by most in this thread.

Nevertheless, I agree: Find people who are cheating the system, and throw them in jail.
