Ok...well I was right about my theory... Now let's see if he drops in the draft. The smart minds are saying he will still stay in the first round. That's probably likely...but I would not be shocked if he drops to the 2nd round.
The real reason that he might not get drafted in the first is that he is being called out for being a serious serial liar. He also seems to have done some of his lying for publicity. He wanted the Heisman and he wanted the amazing dead girlfriend storyline to continue. That affects his leadership abilities and can be poisonous to a locker room environment.Last edited by Orygun; January 23rd, 2013 at 5:27 pm.

Last night, the Cleveland Cavs arena had a "kiss cam", Manti Te'o edition, where the camera found guys next to empty seats.

A funny gag in theory, but don't we have to wait before he is actually a pro athlete before we can make fun of him like this?
Plus, this is Cleveland, currently with a 11-32 record and now making a gag out of their empty seats. I'd say he's still going to have a better year than Cavs and their fans.If you do things right, people won't be sure you've done anything at all.

By the way, here's my next post after that one...
"He finally played with a NFL team (Alabamas front offense) and got beat up. And once he admits to having fraudulently led on the entire nation, his stock will drop. Yeah I'd bet he wont make the first round. I might be a little harsh to say third round but I'd bet money on him having to wait until at least the second round."
Looks like if we'd bet money Jim...I would have won.

We'll just have to disagree about that. He kept being talked about being a high pick. His character and leadership intangibles were being touted along with his great senior season. After the fake girlfriend fiasco his stock dropped and it dropped even more after the combine.

It was definitely a combination of factors. I think his athletic skill was the predominant factor but Im pretty sure no team wanted to be seen taking him in the first round. All those intangible concerns around his character, leadership and just plain drama helped drop his stock.
