Default The History Channel -- 9/11 Documentary

I watched a very interesting historical perspective about events leading up to 9/11 going all the way back to a young Bin Laden joining to fight the Soviets with aid from the US (CIA provided stinger missiles), his outrage of being upstaged by the US in defending Kuwait against Iraqi invasion, and his evolution of hatred towards the west.

They talked about the early lives of the 9/11 hijackers, the transformation of KSM from American student to terrorist, and the vows of jihad by those who would ultimately become the hijackers.

But even though there were videos of him with Bin Laden, not one word was mentioned about Ayman al-Zawahiri and I cannot picture this as being an oversight. He was Bin Laden's chief deputy, his chief advisor, and he's still alive. He may be as responsible for 9/11 as was Bin Laden.

Can anyone think of a logical reason why he was dismissed from the documentary?

I watched the documentary as well and had the same thought about that omission. That aside, I thought it was a fascinating, well-produced program. I'm certain the History Channel will air it again, they tend to repeat things a lot.

I don't know, D. But if anyone finds the name of that documentary, please post it. I'll check www.imdb.com to see what date & time it will next air. It sounds interesting.

There was also a movie made some years back about the hijackers/murderers called THE HAMBURG CELL. Has anyone seen it?
