Badkarma compares ksdb's comment to Dan Rather's forging Bush's NG paper
Since Nazi, etc. comparisons carry withem a whole bunch of unneeded inferences....
In like manner ...
IMHO this post carries with it unneeded and badly formed inference.
http://forums.hannity.com/showthread...#post101929811
Not only does the comparison to Dan Rather act of forgery carry with it a not so subtle inference of a deliberate act of lying but also that Rather because his known act surrounding what he did in conjunction with W. Bush's national guard service involved deliberately forged papers to make it appear that W. Bush lied that carries with it an inference of illegality and deliberate fraudulent acts when comparing ksdb to Dan Rather....
AND of course since the issue is NOT ever supposed to be about the Hannity member ....
The whole series of posts that both proceed and follow this post make Ksdb defend himself against allegations that include this line of reasoning making the issue instead about the Hannity member instead of the issue of the OP/articles posted/ facts stated and on top of the fact that ksdb insists that it is his opinion based on speculation concerning the issue he is being attacked over and thus the whole series of exchanges based on what ksdb states as opinion is bad form all the way around IMHO.
Thanks ahead of time for giving this a look see.Today's weather will be partly cloudy with frequent mentions of how

It seems that ksdb handled the matter in stride, but, I also note that ksdb is dishing out similar personalized rhetoric to others participating in the thread. BK's post is no worse than many of ksdb's posts.
Should I shut the thread down until I have time to go through all 5,500 + posts?
Should I, as a matter of correction, issue a TO to both of them?
I don't think the post, though improper, warrants any moderator action.

OK ....
Thanks for the look see just the same...
In answer to your questions ....
Here is my two cents worth.
No I don't believe that the exchanges in questions warrants a TO for either or both or a review of the entire thread either ...
That said I am not a Mod and don't ever desire the job...
The Mods here do an excellent job ....
That said IMHO peanuts ksdb appears from the comments that I saw in the particular exchange ... AND from what I saw of the exchange and that I made a subject of the report... It appeared to me that ksdb was at least trying IMHO to keep it about the comments (Yup ksdb used the words stupid, etc. but I thought it was about the comments not unlike sometimes I will call some comments "nonsense". ) made by other posters and not about the person of the poster in particular in the thread of replies back and forth...
Could I be wrong about all the comments made by ksdb?
Yup.
I don't have your expertise and perspective gained from experience and background of moderating a forum ....
I openly admit that I didn't look at every comment before and after the particular comment that included the reference to Dan Rather to thoroughly analyze their content either.
As I merely tried to compare the comparison made by badkarma to the reasoning why Nazi comparisons are not allowed at all....
Perhaps that was too an extreme of a comparison?
I simply attempted to supply reasoning as to why a comparison to Dan Rather is totally unjustifiable by the same measure based on MHO.
I didn't demand a TO for Badkarma ....
I hope that wasn't the perception!
Hopefully it wasn't thought that it was inferred by me that a TO should be THE course of action that I desired....
In fact I on my part actually never want anyone to receive a TO or a ban (Unless of course they are a retread , etc. ) but then that is the Mod's call not mine....
I for my part just want as much as possible for an actual debate to ensue and stay as much as possible to be about the core issues brought up w/o all to most of the replies resorting to the replies becoming solely about the person making the post instead about the subject being brought up....
Does it always happen that way?
Nope.
For my part I attempt to keep on issue , not make it about Hannity members' personalities and when it is pointed out that I miss the mark I edit it out as quickly as I can....
I think the vast majority of other Hannity members do the same as far as I can see.
I can only report 'em as I perceive them at the point in time of the report...
I hope that it can be seen that I only want to leave it up to the Mods to moderate at the point in time of the issue at hand and don't want to open up a can of worms that requires an entire review of any thread including the one and only.
That said a simple edit out of the portion of the comment that offends for both parties as much as possible based on the immediate posts in question (W/o overburdening the Mods with reveiewing every comment in every thread. ) would suffice for me as a non-Mod and thus keep me entirely happy as a non-Mod if the comment goes over the line.
Again just my peanuts comment since of course I am not a Mod and never want the job!
Thanks again Lee for the look see and for being a part of the great Mods that keep the forum a place where I like to debate because it is a moderated forum instead of being a cess pool like some other forums that I have been invited to join but have opted not to because of the blatant contrast to this forum because again the Mods here do such a great job of keeping the debate as civil as possible..
I don't want to make your job as a moderator any harder than it already is...
I hope that you and the other Mods understand that and don't get irritated at
me personally and don't view my reports that which I admit I am still in "learn the ropes" mode here despite my being here for several years.

Roberts, that's the longest TTTM post created in the history of man. I've read shorter dissertations on historical analyses and market theories.

It wasn't Bush's AG who dropped the case when it was pretty much won by virtue of the defendants' failures to respond. That was Eric Holder... and if you'll take a trip in the way-back machine,...
I called it...
