    That's great

I'm just sayin how awesome it is for our community to come together to reach a common goal, especially considering that it's a mostly online community based around a cartoon show.

Rick, blue fox, ExDem, I have something I'd like you to watch. No, not an episode of the show (although honestly, yes, that too, but that's not what I have here.)

    http://youtu.be/qxH8xqdlfeE?t=21m27s
^This starts at about the 21 1/2 minute mark of "A Helping Hoof", a documentary made in New South Wales, New Zealand.

It's three of us sharing our stories, of what the show, and more particularly, the community, have done for us. Just something to keep in mind when you want to be critical of Bronies for being who we are.

    UPDATE

The Brony Thank You Project is moving forward!

There's been a lot of organizational activity over at the Brony Thank You Project. We have incorporated as a NH Non-Profit corporation, appointed a board of directors that included Bronycon PR Head Haybuck and noted fan artist PixelKitties, and met our funding goal for the advertising campaign. All additional funds donated to the new Brony Thank You Fund, Incorporated will now go to charitable endeavors, such as donations to eligible charities and the establishment of the fund as a 501(c)(3) tax exempt organization.

New board member PixelKitties has also agreed to create the 11x17" art print that will be sent to donors at the $30 level or above We'll, later in the year, also be accepting submissions for a musical score to accompany the ad, the selected composer will work with MLP BGM composer William Anderson to put the final polish on the music.
This is a pretty neat thing they're doing, and I'll be excited to see the final product.

Kiki Havivy is 6, diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor.

Tara Strong, voice of Twilight Sparkle, has offered up a "Twilightlicious" T-shirt as a raffle prize to encourage people to donate. They've so far almost reached $5000, but every last bit helps.

    *snip*
(have to go to work, no time for edits right this minute, I'll fix it later)

I have zero idea what this stuff is about .... and I'd spend the time figuring it out but there is a "Toddlers and Tiaras" marathon showing on TLC that I don't want to miss.

why is it that when some people don't agree with something, rather than simply walking away, they must voice a negative opinion or give a snide remark?

it's really easy, if this isn't your cup of tea .... move along.

Well, since this is a board where folks post their opinions...........

Why should someone walk away if they don't agree? Why shouldn't they post their own opinion? Why do you think you can dictate what people should post or what posters should leave? Are you a mod or something?

How is this different than any other interest when it comes to cartoons, comics or movies? There are grown men (and women) who find themselves deeply interested in anime, manga, Star Wars, Star Trek, or comic book characters. How is this any different? Because My Little Pony isn't "manly"? I'll admit that the earlier genre of pony cartoons were girlie and thus had a stigma attached to them, but Friendship is Magic is a whole different animal. It is well written, with strong likeable characters. It has humor that is reminiscent of classic looney-toons, yet still teaches the values of love, friendship, family and responsibility.

I find it to be something I can watch with my 4 year old daughter. It has engaging plot lines that aren't so deep as to drown my 4 year old's mind, yet it keeps me and my wife's interest for the entire episode. As I've mentioned, it has very good writers. Considering all the other shows that are on TV, there are few where I can say such positive things especially in regards to the messages taught and entertainment value.

no, I'm not a mod. I just try to be a nice person, but I realize that is too much to ask of some others.

Hmmm. I don't see how it is nice to tell people they cannot post their opinion on an opinion board or to tell people leave a thread if they do not agree with you. I guess people disagree on what is considered nice, huh? Yep!! People disagree on things. Oh, well!

Well, it sounds like a great show for the wee ones.
