Well, I'm not very good at finding solutions.

But I know Someone Who IS -- and He's providing very nicely -- getting pushed into stuff I wouldn't choose for myself -- and finding that HE knows better than I do after all.

Mind you, I'd trade everything I am or will ever be just for one more night of Bear's snores to tell me he's still with me -- not going to happen, but I can survive the silence, too.

    for thinking about me

what say you to My Father's Dreams as the title of my dad's biography, which is the story of the treacheries of the 1960s and 1970s that turned so much of the Greatest Generation's dreams to ashes? Too cheesy a take-off on another book I won't name?

My Father's Dreams, great title, I dunno about a story of treacheries selling well though. Unless you can make it really really seductive (like fatal attraction), it might seem like a shrill act of vengeance.

That worked when Tina Turner made a film about her abusive ex-husband, but otherwise there very little market for such things.

story of my little brother and Vietnam and the drugs that destroyed him

and the story of the murder of my little sister, also trapped in the drug crap

the story of how the US became the misery it is now compared to the hopes and dreams of the men, like my Dad, and moms like my own who fought the Depression and WW2 -- and then lost their own children -- to forces they did not understand and could not control

    I'll tell you sometime.
it's just that I want to do so when I won't get too long-winded.

Perhaps a collection of short stories would work better for your soul.

That's how it's shaping up: a collection of vignettes, little stories like how they met, that together tell the story of their dreams, reveal the values they lived for -- and how they lost the real war which was inside their own hearts and minds -- and yet won it too, in the deepest levels, which was their total devotion to each other -- and to their kids

I want to hear the story of your uncle. Many such stories, all combined, to tell the REAL history of this country -- which has nothing to do with politics or money -- would make a very very worthy tale to tell, I think

I am still praying for Rhet, every day
I want to go back down and lie beside the sea there.
With a tin cup for a chalice, Fill it up with good red wine,
And I'm-a chewin' on a honeysuckle vine.

    LOL

just checking in before sleep myself

    I love you, too

Sweet dreams -- and know I'm praying myself to sleep -- with you and your family being some of what I'm nagging the LORD to help out.
