Has it been verified that his campaign actually got the proper paperwork in to withdraw?

Very well could have been. I'm sure when he lost the election for his Senate seat by more than 18%, it was pretty embarrassing. Losing to an "outsider" would have been worse.
I imagine he'll use the old fall back of "spending time and taking care of the family." With his youngest back in the hospital though, it isn't really a stretch that that aided in his decision.

The way I heard it reported, he is going to suspend his campaign. I haven't been able to find anything online yet to verify - but I know he is suppose to be giving a speech today. Supposedly, that is when he is going to announce. Hopefully, we'll have more details then.

SWEET. Now I will eagerly await the RNC's massive and properly executed PR campaign paving the way for victory.
Does that mean we'll get to see an RNC message next to Michelle Obama's mug in my google search results finally.
Carl Rove is finally unleashed!
