Philly trades a 4th and swaps 3rd-rounders for DeMeco Ryans. http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news?slug=ycn-11131770

If he's recovered from his Achilles tear from two years ago, this is an OUTSTANDING move...and even if he hasn't, he's still probably better than every other MLB option we have right now.

Well a banana peel in the middle of the field is probably an improvement over your current line backing corps. This is a big if really, could be a great move, might just be a stop gap until you guys cut him. He definitely fits a 4-3 better but he has not had much production lately. Then again, the Texans players seem to really hate this move. Seems he has a pretty high price tag too.

SWEET! Funny, as I was driving to work this morning I was wondering which issue they'd address first, linebacker or O-line? Seems I have my answer.

$5.9M...not too bad for a Pro Bowl MLB.

He was a leader with the Texans, which is why they're upset.

And the first year after an achilles tear is rarely good...my hope is that he's now fully recovered and ready to go.

O-Line? I LOVE Philly's offensive line now. Jason Peters is the best left tackle in football. Mathis is a MONSTER (best guard in the league on running plays, and it's not close according to the numbers). Kelce and Watkins were shaky in stretches last year, but looked GREAT down the stretch, and Herremans is as steady as they come.

I'm not concerned about the o-line, defensive ends, offensive skill positions or cornerback right now. Safety needs work (since we picked up Ryans, I might be willing to let LB slide to a 2nd round concern and go after Mark Barron from Alabama), and we could use another run-stuffer on the d-line.

That was early in the year...they improved by leaps and bounds by the end of the season.

Michael Bush has signed with the Bears.

Forte and Bush in the same backfield?

New England Patriots wide receiver Chad Ochocinco agreed to restructure his contract for the coming season, lowering his base salary to $1 million from the $3 million he had been scheduled to earn, according to a league source.

Some rule changes for the NFL in 2012, including expansion of the playoff OT rule to the regular season, and all turnover plays will now automatically be reviewed (like scoring plays).
