13 favorite characters from Mel Brooks movies (movies he directed, not that he appeared in nor inspired, so things like Muppet Movie and Get Smart are out). If you can throw in one quote, all the better
1. Lone Star (Spaceballs)- Great...just what we needed. A Druish Princess.
2. the Waco Kid (Jim) "we are not sure, are we black"
3. Robin Hood (RH, Men in Tights)- "No, no...we're straight. Just...merry"
4. Dr. Frankenstein (Young Frankenstein) 'Well this explains the music. "
5. Dark Helmet (Spaceballs) "Why don't we all take a 5 minute break...... smoke 'em if ya got 'em"
6. Leo Bloom (The Producers) "To failure "
7. Igor (Young Frankenstein) " Wait Master, it might be dangerous... you go first."
8. Louis XVI (History of the World, Part I) "It's good to be the king" and "Everyone jump the queen!"
9. Count DeMoney (History Of The World, Part 1) "Don't get saucey with me, Bernaisse"
10. Lili Von Shtupp

7. Weezer- "Pinkerton"...the band itself isn't "underrated" per se (critics generally seem to like them, and their albums generally sell pretty well), but Rolling Stone declared this the worst album of the year when it came out, and every time I listen to it I realize just how much better it is than the rest of their albums (although I'm hearing rumbles that their new Red album might be their best yet).

8. Gov't Mule- "The Deep End Volume 1"... This is an awesome band if you're into Southern Rock/ Blues...I don't really understand why they haven't been that popular, unless it's just that they came out after the Southern Rock movement was really over. They formed in 1989 but the only semi-big hit they've had was in 2001. "Soulshine."

Saw these guys at a couple of rock festivals in the late 60's, and the only act that outshown them was Joplin.
2. Lonestar - especially the album titled "Firing On All Six"
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Lone-Star-Fi.../dp/B0001ZXMJA
3. Charlie - "No Second Chance" album
http://www.amazon.com/No-Second-Chan.../dp/B000005NNT
4. The Moody Blues - eventhough they have had success, I think they are the most underappreciated band in history. Virtually everything they have ever done is amazing.
5. Ben Folds Five- "Whatever and Ever Amen". Great album, great hidden track at the end. Shame they were ten years ahead of all these new pop/rock bands using pianos (The Fray, Augustana, Jack's Mannequin, etc)
6. Sky Cries Mary (album: This Timeless Turning)
http://www.skycriesmary.com/timeless.php
Saw these guys at a rock concert in Seattle when I was passing through in 1995. Had never heard of them before. They blew me away. Surprised they don't have much of a following.
"Soulshine."
http://youtube.com/watch?v=nf0BNlYY_RA
9. Slade - "Stomp Your Hands Clap Your Feet"
http://eil.com/shop/moreinfo.asp?catalogid=324377
These guys could rock, and I think this album kicked ass.
10. Plimsouls (album: Everywhere At Once)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9ZFy9...eature=related
First heard this band's music when I saw the movie "Valley Girl" back in the 80's. Great Stuff.
11. Joan Armatrading - "The Key"
http://www.google.com/musicl?lid=C51...id=I5A4H9UnsuG
"I Love It When You Call Me Names" is raw and rocks hard.
12. Soul Coughing (album: Ruby Vroom)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bFt-OaVyjtE
From the mid-90's. Maybe not great, but certainly interesting.
And this video's pretty fun.

The franchise still exists. I'll accept teams that moved, but name changes don't count. (I actually considered saying no teams that moved, but I realized it would take a month and bayoubil might complain ;) )

I refuse to participate in this category, because I went to Rolling Stone's site, and checked their top 100, and it's a load of crap. Not one tenth of those listed could even begin to approach what Joe Satriani can do on a guitar. I always knew there was a reason I never read that rag of a magazine.

13 One Hit Wonders that made the Billboard Top 10:
1. "Spirit In The Sky" - Norman Greenbaum (#3)
2. "Macarena"- Los Del Rio (#1)
3. "Tighter, Tighter" - Alive and Kicking (#7)
4. "Baby Got Back"- Sir Mix-A-Lot (#1)
5. "Montego Bay" - Bobby Bloom (#8)
6. "Last Kiss" - J. Frank Wilson and the Cavaliers (#2)
7. Ice Ice Baby- Vanilla Ice (#1)
8. "When I'm With You" - Sheriff (#10, 1989)
9. Afternoon Delight -- Starland Vocal Band (#1)
10. "Psychotic Reaction" - Count Five (#5)
11. Expressway To Your Heart -- Soul Survivers (#4)
12. "Touch of Grey" - Grateful Dead (#9)
I don't much like 'em, but the Grateful Dead a one-hit wonder?
13. Dream Weaver -- Gary Wright (#2)
Done!
The Grateful Dead had another charted hit in "Truckin' " and Gary Wright had a follow up called "Love Is Alive" that went pretty high on the charts, so the last two on this list aren't correct.

Dude...that was three lists ago. Let it go.
And VH1 called the Grateful Dead a one-hit wonder on their "100 Greatest One-Hit Wonders" so I'm going to agree with them (they also pointed out that Jimi Hendrix technically never had a "hit", the point being that it didn't matter where you were on the charts).
And if you MUST have something else...

1. Kate and Allie

A public flogging should be ordered for that post. "ALF" was quite possibly the dumbest show in the history of television, and probably accounts for the onset of the dumbing down of America.

I disagree...the dumbing down of America began with "Circus of the Stars"
