If it weren't for kids have you ever thought
There wouldn't be no Santa Clause
Look what the stork just brought
Thank God for Kids
We'd all live in a quiet house
Without Big Bird or a Mickey Mouse
And Kool-aid on the couch
Thank God for Kids
Thank God for kids there's magic for a while
A special kind of sunshine in a smile
Do you ever stop to think? or wonder why?
The nearest thing to Heaven is a child
Daddy how does this thing fly?
A hundred other where's and why's
You really don't know but we try
Thank God for Kids
When you look down in those trustin eyes
That look to you, you realize
Its love that you can't buy
Thank God for Kids
Thank God for there's magic for a while
A special kind of sunshine in a smile
Do you ever stop to think? or wonder why?
The nearest thing to Heaven is a child
When you get down on your knees tonight
To thank the Lord for his guiding light
And pray they turn out right
Thank God for Kids
Thank God for Kids

Be Thankful
Be thankful if you have apparel,
And shoes to wear upon your feet.
Be grateful for your humble shelter,
And for the food you have to eat.
There are so many in this world,
That suffer, and have to do without.
The basic things we take for granted,
Like clean water from our water spout.
There are people all across this nation,
Who have no clothes, or shoes to wear.
No place to call home and are on starvation,
With their bodies weak and their cupboards bare.
So, if you have your basic needs,
Thank the Lord that you are blessed.
Give Him due thanks and daily praise,
Let His love and wisdom discern the rest.
He feeds the birds in the winter time,
And clothes the lilies in the spring.
He takes them in His loving arms,
And nurtures them beneath His wings.
1Timothy:6:8
And having food and rainment
Let us be therewith content.

Here is a poem my 16 year old daughter wrote:
Forever and Ever More
Why do people have to die?
I've asked God this before.
Why do people have to go,
and leave us here to mourn?
Why can't people live here forever?
Why do they have to depart?
Do you not know, God, it is breaking people's hearts?
Then I heard an answer, I believe God said to me,
If people never died then,
Think of how it would be.
People would never get to Heaven
or see the streets of gold.
They'd never see the sights,
that your mind cannot behold.
And if people never died,
when a new life is born,
How would people find the room,
to keep that baby warm?
The world would fill up over time.
But thank me, you have my grace.
Because when a person dies now,
with me they have a place.
If they trust in my grace to save them,
They will have eternal life.
They will live with me forever
without the pain and strife.
So every time you lose a loved one,
My child, if it breaks your heart,
I'll be there to pick up the pieces,
each and every part.
I'll put it back together
with perfect love and care,
and if you trust in me also,
You too can miss death's snare.
Your body will be dead some day,
but your soul, it will live on,
and you'll get to live with me forever,
with your loved ones who have gone.
After I heard God say this,
I still felt a little sad,
But with His grace and kindness,
I won't always feel so bad.
Because when this world is over,
I know it's not the end.
I'll go to Heaven forever
with my family and friends.
No more sadness, no more tears,
No more death, no more fears.
It will be happiness forever more.
On that peaceful, golden shore.

It is a beautiful day at the cabin. The sun is shining and there was a cool, fall breeze. Not too much longer and winter will be here. The weather men are predicting a long, cold, hard winter for us. I love it when it snows. I love to see the smiles on my children's faces when they see the snow. I love to watch them outside as they stick their tongues out to catch the falling flakes.

Ok here is a dish I am certain you will have difficulty serving here.
Doro Wate w/a Red Berbere sauce (Hint it is Not American)
blazer
November 19th, 2009, 11:27 pm
here is a recipe:
juice of one lemon
two teaspoons salt
one chicken (about 3 pounds), cleaned and cut into serving-size pieces -- some cooked remove skin and score or pierce the meat with a knife to facilitate marinating
two (or more) onions, finely chopped
four tablespoons niter kebbeh (or butter)
four cloves garlic, finely chopped or minced
one piece fresh ginger root -- cleaned, scraped, and chopped (about a teaspoon)
1/2 teaspoon ground fenugreek
1/2 teaspoon ground cardamom
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/2 teaspoon berberé -- or -- 1 - 2 tablespoons of a combination of cayenne pepper and paprika (if berberé and niter kebbeh are not used)
1 small tomato, chopped or a few tablespoons tomato paste or tomato sauce (optional)
1 cup chicken stock, water, or dry red wine
hard-boiled eggs (1 per person), pierced with a toothpick or the tine of a long fork.
What you do
In a glass bowl, combine the lemon juice (some cooks use lime juice), half the salt, and chicken pieces. Let chicken marinate for 30 minutes to an hour.
Cook the onions over medium heat for a few minutes in a dry (no oil) pot or dutch oven large enough to eventually hold all of the ingredients. Stir constantly to prevent them from browning or burning; reduce heat or remove the pot from the heat if necessary. (Some cooks add the niter kebbeh at the start, but dry-cooking the onions for a few minutes gives the dish a distinctive flavor. )
Add the niter kebbeh or butter to the onions, along with the garlic, ginger, fenugreek, cardamom, nutmeg, remaining salt, berberé (or cayenne pepper and paprika), and tomato. Stir and simmer for a few minutes. The onions should be soft, tender, and translucent, but not browned.
Add the chicken stock, water, or dry red wine. Bring the mixture to a low boil while stirring gently. Cook for a few minutes, then reduce heat.
Add the chicken pieces, making sure to cover them with the sauce. Cover and simmer for 30 to 40 minutes — or until the chicken is done — turning the chicken a few times.
After the chicken has been cooking for 20 minutes, gently add the hard-boiled eggs and ladle sauce over them.
Serve hot. The only traditional way to serve doro wat is with a spongy flat bread called injera, which can only be properly made with difficult-to-obtain teff flour. While it's not the way Ethiopians would serve it, doro wat is very good with Couscous, Rice, or Middle-Eastern or Indian style flat bread.

If anyone comes to this cabin and leaves without being well fed, it is there own fault! If I don't have something they like, I'll get up and cook them whatever they want! It is my job to make everyone happy! :)I went to the cabin the other day and all they gave me was saltines and sardines.
I think they were out of food, My friends tell me that they hide all the good stuff for their favorite clients.
I guess I know where I stand, hmmph.

You won't get any crackers and sardines here unless that is what you want!I had asked for stackers and Prelines, they must have missunderstood me.
Wassup, I can't get no goose?
I like a well cooked goose, a succulant bird marinated with Pinapple and honey.
But I can't really eat animals unless I'm there to prepare the creature myself because you really have to be gentle with a quacker.
It has to be killed with love in order not to put it in shock.
First you have to talk real sweet to the bird and run your hand up and down it's neck just ever so lightly kissing it's beak.
Then when it's so unsuspecting, you say a prayer of thanks and break it's neck.
It sounds just horrible but it's best for the bird.
While you are prepareing it you must keep talking to it as if it were still alive because the spirit of a goose may still be around watching but it doesn't know it's dead.
So you clean it and rub it down with vinigar to prepare the skin for the coming honey.
Now this honey rub process is no small thing because if it is done wrong, it turns bitter.
So you only wanna use Tupelo Honey because any other Honey may crystalize during the rub.
You really have to rub the Honey on the bird for a long time until it's skin becomes darker and the bird is just glistening in the Sun.
After that, You fill the bird with Pinapple, seal it and stick it in the fridge two days.
You cook the bird on a Rotiserie justa basting and basting with Tiger sauce until you get that brown crispy look about it and just when it gets done, you remove the pinapple, and she's ready to eat.

Well, its a marvelous night for a moondance
With the stars up above in your eyes
A fantabulous night to make romance
neath the cover of october skies
And all the leaves on the trees are falling
To the sound of the breezes that blow
And Im trying to please to the calling
Of your heart-strings that play soft and low
And all the nights magic seems to whisper and hush
And all the soft moonlight seems to shine in your blush
Chorus:
Can I just have one a more moondance with you, my love
Can I just make some more romance with a-you, my love
Well, I wanna make love to you tonight
I cant wait til the morning has come
And I know that the time is just right
And straight into my arms you will run
And when you come my heart will be waiting
To make sure that youre never alone
There and then all my dreams will come true, dear
There and then I will make you my own
And every time I touch you, you just tremble inside
And I know how much you want me that you cant hide
Chorus
Repeat 1st verse
One more moondance with you in the moonlight
On a magic night
La, la, la, la in the moonlight
On a magic night
Cant I just have one more dance with you my love what a sweet song!

The Christmas Guest by Helen Steiner Rice
It happened one day at the year’s white end,
Two neighbors called on an old-time friend
And they found his shop so meager and mean,
Made gay with a thousand boughs of green,
And Conrad was sitting with face a-shine
When he suddenly stopped as he stitched a twine
And said, “Old friends, at dawn today,
When the rooster was crowing the night away,
The Lord appeared in a dream to me
And said, ‘I am coming your guest to be’.
So I’ve been busy with feet astir,
Strewing my shop with branches of fir,
The table is spread and the kettle is shined
And over the rafters the holly is twined,
And now I will wait for my Lord to appear
And listen closely so I will hear
His step as He nears my humble place,
And I open the door and look in His face. . .”
So his friends went home and left Conrad alone,
For this was the happiest day he had known,
For, long since, his family had passed away
And Conrad has spent a sad Christmas Day.
But he knew with the Lord as his Christmas guest
This Christmas would be the dearest and best,
And he listened with only joy in his heart.
And with every sound he would rise with a start
And look for the Lord to be standing there
In answer to his earnest prayer
So he ran to the window after hearing a sound,
But all that he saw on the snow-covered ground
Was a shabby beggar whose shoes were torn
And all of his clothes were ragged and worn.
So Conrad was touched and went to the door
And he said, “Your feet must be frozen and sore,
And I have some shoes in my shop for you
And a coat that will keep you warmer, too.”
So with grateful heart the man went away,
But as Conrad noticed the time of day
He wondered what made the dear Lord so late
And how much longer he’d have to wait,
When he heard a knock and ran to the door,
But it was only a stranger once more,
A bent, old crone with a shawl of black,
A bundle of sticks piled on her back.
She asked for only a place to rest,
But that was reserved for Conrad’s Great Guest.
But her voice seemed to plead, “Don’t send me away
Let me rest awhile on Christmas day.”
So Conrad brewed her a steaming cup
And told her to sit at the table and sip.
But after she left he was filled with dismay
For he saw that the hours were passing away
And the Lord had not come as He said He would,
And Conrad felt sure he had misunderstood.
When out of the stillness he heard a cry,
“Please help me and tell me where am I.”
So again he opened his friendly door
And stood disappointed as twice before,
It was only a child who had wandered away
And was lost from her family on Christmas Day. .
Again Conrad’s heart was heavy and sad,
But he knew he should make this little child glad,
So he called her in and wiped her tears
And quieted her childish fears.
Then he led her back to her home once more
But as he entered his own darkened door,
He knew that the Lord was not coming today
For the hours of Christmas had passed away.
So he went to his room and knelt down to pray
And he said, “Dear Lord, why did you delay,
What kept You from coming to call on me,
For I wanted so much Your face to see. . .”
When soft in the silence a voice he heard,
“Lift up your head for I kept My word–
Three times My shadow crossed your floor–
Three times I came to your lonely door–
For I was the beggar with bruised, cold feet,
I was the woman you gave to eat,
And I was the child on the homeless street.”

~ Scripture ~
“Then the King will say to those on his right,
`Come, you who are blessed by my Father;
take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you
since the creation of the world.
For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat,
I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink,
I was a stranger and you invited me in,
I needed clothes and you clothed me,
I was sick and you looked after me,
I was in prison and you came to visit me.’
“Then the righteous will answer him,
`Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you,
or thirsty and give you something to drink?
When did we see you a stranger and invite you in,
or needing clothes and clothe you?
When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’
“The King will reply, `I tell you the truth,
whatever you did for one
of the least of these brothers of mine,
you did for me.’

The True Meaning Of Christmas
by Brian K. Walters
In todays' day and time,
it's easy to lose sight,
of the true meaning of Christmas
and one special night.
When we go shopping,
We say "How much will it cost?"
Then the true meaning of Christmas,
Somehow becomes lost.
Amidst the tinsel, glitter
And ribbons of gold,
We forget about the child,
born on a night so cold.
The children look for Santa
In his big, red sleigh
Never thinking of the child
Whose bed was made of hay.
In reality,
When we look into the night sky,
We don't see a sleigh
But a star, burning bright and high.
A faithful reminder,
Of that night so long ago,
And of the child we call Jesus,
Whose love, the world would know.

Fresh cut French Fries.
NO NO NO McDonalds they are crap food.
I like In and Out Burger Fries made fresh right in front of you. You get to see the guy cutting them and dropping them in the fryer right there sweet smells of golden tasty goodness. Seasoned either with normal sea salt or seasoned salt for the zesty type of french fry lover.
