We went to a rest here in town, fine dining. A gentleman restored a Victorian Home and creates fabulous meals. I had chicken stuffed with raisins and apricots and pumpkin soup. Hubby had seared tuna with a creamed wasabi sauce. The menu changes every season there at the restaurant.

Then, on Christmas Day, We will go to my mother in law's house to have Christmas with my husband's side of the family. They kissed goodbye at the terminal gate
She said, "You're gonna be late if you don't go"
He held her tight, said, "I'll be alright
I'll call you tonight to let you know"
He bought a postcard, on the front it just said Heaven
With a picture of the ocean and the beach
And the simple words he wrote her
Said he loved her and they told her
How he'd hold her if his arms would reach

Wish you were here, wish you could see this place
Wish you were near, I wish I could touch your face
The weather's nice, it's paradise
It's summertime all year and there's some folks we know
They say, "Hello, I miss you so, wish you were here"

She got a call that night but it wasn't from him
It didn't sink in right away, ma'am the plane went down
Our crews have searched the ground
No survivors found she heard him say
But somehow she got a postcard in the mail
That just said Heaven with a picture of the ocean and the beach
And the simple words he wrote her
Said he loves and they told her
How he'd hold her if his arms would reach

Wish you were here, wish you could see this place
Wish you were near, I wish I could touch your face
The weather's nice, it's paradise
It's summertime all year and there's some folks we know
They say, "Hello, I miss you so, wish you were here"

Whatever this world can give to me
It's you you're all i see
Ooo you make me live now honey
Ooo you make me live

Ooh you're the best friend that i ever had
I've been with you such a long time
You're my sunshine and i want you to know
That my feelings are true
I really love you
Oh you're my best friend

Ooo you make me live

Ooh i've been wandering round
But i still come back to you
In rain or shine
You've stood by me girl
I'm happy at home
You're my best friend

Ooo you make me live
Whenever this world is cruel to me
I got you to help me forgive
Ooo you make me live now honey
Ooo you make me live

You're the first one
When things turn out bad
You know i'll never be lonely
You're my only one
And i love the things
I really love the things that you do
You're my best friend

Ooo you make me live

I'm happy at home
You're my best friend
Oh you're my best friend
Ooo you make me live

What is your favorite thing about Christmas?

I do better with funny, so I will start there:

On Christmas Eve, as a child my parents would take us to look at Christmas lights and sing carols in the car. Well, one year, somehow, neither of my parents had their house key! At that time, even in winter, we still had the AC window unit in, so my dad tore it out and my sister climbed through the window. Well, fell through it was more accurate. We laugh about it today. My poor parents were so stressed out by it, things got very tense in the house. My sister and I worried that Christmas may be cancelled at our house!

that is funny kam, I remember one Christmas we didn't have a Christmas tree up and it was just a couple of days before Christmas, we were all wondering if Santa would just leave our gifts on the floor, then my dad piled us all in the car and we went to the Christmas tree lot and my dad talked the guy into selling us a tree for 5 bucks cuz he told him that he probably wasn't going to sell anymore before Christmas and he would just have to throw them out anyway. then we all went out to carvel and had ice cream:drool: we had lots of fun decorateing our late Christmas tree.

Christmas Is God's Plan

Our God has seen fit to give another Christmas Day
for us to spend in celebration.
All Glory be to Him! Jesus is our Savior!
We give Him praise across many a nation.

Millions of Christians go to church on this special day
and give their love to Him.
God's Son was born so we could have
forgiveness from every sin.

Just a tiny baby in a manger,
Jesus was born to serve mankind.
Let's be assured on this Christmas day
that its God's plan we find.

Let's give God great praise for giving
us such an awesome gift of His glory and grace.
No matter who we are or where we go,
our blessed Jesus is everyplace.

Dear friends, we have another Christmas Day
let us give the very most we can.
God has given us this day to love and
cherish His Son - it's all in God's plan!

What Can I Give Him? What can I give Him poor as I am?
If I were a shepherd, I'd give Him a lamb.
If I was a Wise Man, I'd do my part.
What can I give Him?
I gave him my heart. adapted from poem by

The crowd was great, but she knew she had to reach Him.
It was her last hope of ever being healed.
So she pressed through, until she touched His garment.
Right then and there, her miracle was fulfilled.

Have you prayed and prayed, but still you've heard no answer.
Has your faith grown weak and you feel you're all alone.
Don't give up, for the God I serve won't leave you.
You'll get your miracle if you'll just keep pressing on.

There's a miracle, in the making.
One just for you the Father is working even now.
Your prayers have been heard and the answer on the way.
There's a miracle in the making for you today.

Your prayers have been heard and the answer on the way.
There's a miracle in the making for you today.

Give Love on Christmas Day

People making lists, buying special gifts,
It's a time to be kind to one and all
It's that time of year when good friends are dear
And you wish you could give more
Than just presents from a store

Why don't you give love on Christmas day
Oh even the man who has everything
Would be so happy if you would bring
Him love on Christmas day (on Christmas day)
No greater gift is there than love

People you don't know smiling out hello
Everywhere there's an air of Christmas joy
It's that once a year, when the world's sincere
And you'd like to find a way
To show the things that words can't say

Why don't you give love on Christmas day
The man on the street and the couple upstairs
All need to know that there's one cares
Give love on Christmas day
No greater gift is there than love
What the world needs is love
Yes the world needs your love

Why don't you give love on Christmas day
Oh every little child on Santa's knee
Has room for your love underneath his tree
Give love on Christmas day (Christmas day)
No greater gift is there than love
What the world needs is love
Yes the world needs your love

Give love on Christmas day ...

Christmas Poem by Mary E. Linton

Somewhere across the winter world tonight
You will be hearing chimes that fill the air;
Christmas extends its all-enfolding light
Across the distance...something we can share.

You will be singing, just the same as I,
These familiar songs we know so well,
And you will see these same stars in your sky
And wish upon that brightest one that fell.

I shall remember you and trim my tree,
One shining star upon the topmost bough;
I will hang wreaths of faith that all may see --
Tonight I glimpse beyond the hear and now.

And all the time that we must be apart
I keep a candle in my heart

O Holy Night - Version 1:

O holy night! The stars are brightly shining,
It is the night of our dear Saviour's birth.
Long lay the world in sin and error pining,
'Til He appear'd and the soul felt its worth.
A thrill of hope the weary world rejoices,
For yonder breaks a new and glorious morn.
Fall on your knees! O, hear the angels' voices!
O night divine, O night when Christ was born;
O night divine, O night, O night Divine.
Led by the light of Faith serenely beaming,
With glowing hearts by His cradle we stand.
So led by light of a star sweetly gleaming,
Here come the wise men from Orient land.
The King of Kings lay thus in lowly manger;
In all our trials born to be our friend.
He knows our need, to our weakness is no stranger,
Behold your King! Before Him lowly bend!
Behold your King, Behold your King.
Truly He taught us to love one another;
His law is love and His gospel is peace.
Chains shall He break for the slave is our brother;
And in His name all oppression shall cease.
Sweet hymns of joy in grateful chorus raise we,
Let all within us praise His holy name.
Christ is the Lord! O praise His Name forever,
His power and glory evermore proclaim.
His power and glory evermore proclaim.
O Holy Night - Version 2:

O! Holy night! The stars, their gleams prolonging,
Watch o'er the Eve of our dear Saviour's birth.
Long lay the world in sin and error, longing
For His appearance, then the Spirit felt its worth.
A thrill of hope; the weary world rejoices,
For yonder breaks a new and glorious morn.
Fall on your knees! O, hear the angel voices!
O night divine, the night when Christ was Born;
O night, O holy night, O night divine!
Led by the light of faith serenely beaming,
With glowing hearts we stand by the Babe adored.
O'er the world a star is sweetly gleaming,
And come now, Shepherds, from your flocks unboard.
The Son of God lay thus w'thin lowly manger;
In all our trials born to be our Lord.
He knows our need, our weakness never lasting,
Behold your King! By Him, let Earth accord!
Behold your King! By Him, let Earth accord!
Truly He taught us to love one another,
His law is love and His gospel is peace.
Long live His truth, and may it last forever,
For in His name all discordant noise shall cease.
Sweet hymns of joy in grateful chorus raise we,
With all our hearts we praise His holy name.
Christ is the Lord! Then ever, ever praise we,
His power and glory ever more proclaim!
His power and glory ever more proclaim!
(The second and third choruses are often replaced with a refrain of the first).

Silent Night!
The origin of the Christmas carol we know as Silent Night was a poem that was written in 1816 by an Austrian priest called Joseph Mohr. On Christmas Eve in 1818 in the small alpine village called Oberndorf it is reputed that the organ at St. Nicholas Church had broken. Joseph Mohr gave the poem of Silent Night (Stille Nacht) to his friend Franz Xavier Gruber and the melody for Silent Night was composed with this in mind. The music to Silent Night was therefore intended for a guitar and the simple score was finished in time for Midnight Mass. Silent Night is the most famous Christmas carol of all time!

Silent night, holy night
All is calm, all is bright
Round yon Virgin Mother and Child
Holy Infant so tender and mild
Sleep in heavenly peace
Sleep in heavenly peace

Silent night, holy night!
Shepherds quake at the sight
Glories stream from heaven afar
Heavenly hosts sing Alleluia!
Christ, the Saviour is born
Christ, the Saviour is born

Silent night, holy night
Son of God, love's pure light
Radiant beams from Thy holy face
With the dawn of redeeming grace
Jesus, Lord, at Thy birth
Jesus, Lord, at Thy birth "

Away In A Manger
James R. Murray
Away in a manger, no crib for a bed
The little Lord Jesus laid down His sweet head
The stars in the sky looked down where He lay
The little Lord Jesus, asleep on the hay
The cattle are lowing, the Baby awakes
But little Lord Jesus, no crying He makes
I love Thee, Lord Jesus, look down from the sky
And stay by my cradle til morning is nigh
Be near me, Lord Jesus, I ask Thee to stay
Close by me forever, and love me, I pray
Bless all the dear children in Thy tender care
And fit us for heaven to live with Thee there
Amen

Open my eyes, that I may see
Glimpses of truth Thou hast for me
Place in my hands the wonderful key
That shall unclasp and set me free.
Silently now I wait for Thee,
Ready my God, Thy will to see,
Open my eyes, illumine me,Spirit divine.
Open my ears, that I may hear
Voices of truth Thou sendest clear
And while the wave notes fall on my ear,
Everything false will disappear.
Open my mouth, and let me bear,
Gladly the warm truth everywhere
Open my heart and let me prepare
Love with Thy children thus to share.

1 And it came to pass in those days, that there went out a decree from Caesar Augustus that all the world should be taxed. 2 (And this taxing was first made when Cyrenius was governor of Syria.) 3 And all went to be taxed, every one into his own city. 4 And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judaea, unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem; (because he was of the house and lineage of David:) 5 To be taxed with Mary his espoused wife, being great with child. 6 And so it was, that, while they were there, the days were accomplished that she should be delivered. 7 And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.

8 And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. 9 And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid. 10 And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. 11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. 12 And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. 13 And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying,

14 Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.

15 And it came to pass, as the angels were gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds said one to another, Let us now go even unto Bethlehem, and see this thing which is come to pass, which the Lord hath made known unto us. 16 And they came with haste, and found Mary, and Joseph, and the babe lying in a manger. 17 And when they had seen it, they made known abroad the saying which was told them concerning this child. 18 And all they that heard it wondered at those things which were told them by the shepherds. 19 But Mary kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart. 20 And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things that they had heard and seen, as it was told unto them.

It's almost Christams time.
A time to give gifts,
But I got the best gift a while back for you see.
A gift was given to me,
Across the distant miles;
A package wrapped in laughter,
And filled with joy and smiles.
I pulled away the ribbons,
And took the greatest care;
When I reached into the gift,
I found friendship waiting there.
A friendship like no other,
A connection from the start;
Not one I could see, touch or feel,
Except here in my heart.
That gift so rare and precious,
Of friendship tried and true;
Touched my heart and blessed my life,
And is what I found in you.
Thank you for being my friend.

Thank You Troops

Merry Christmas one and all
Answering strong to duties call
Missing shopping at the mall
Serveing Country for us all
Missing home and Christmas Ball

Standing steadfast in your place
Guarding daily sandy base
Putting forward America's face
Thinking of home and warm embrace

Soldiers of Honor and of care
Excepting those whose wrath will dare
For you all have your arms to bare
Foes take heed and beware

We at home praise the few
Who do what they are known to do
Protect their home and their crew
To their Country always True

Time will come when war is done
When they know that we have won
Then come home and have some fun
Polish up the sword and gun

Christmas wishes sent your way
For your safety we all pray
Rely on God's shield come what may
Rejoice this Glorious Christmas Day

Augustus (Latin: IMPERATOR·CAESAR·DIVI·FILIVS·AVGVSTVS;[note 1] September 23, 63 BC – August 19, AD 14), born Gaius Octavius Thurinus, was adopted by his great-uncle Julius Caesar in 44 BC, and was thenceforth known as Gaius Julius Caesar Octavianus (Latin: GAIVS·IVLIVS·CAESAR·OCTAVIANVS). After his adoption, he became the first emperor of the Roman Empire, which he ruled alone from 27 BC until his death in AD 14. The young Octavius came into his inheritance after Caesar's assassination in 44 BC. In 43 BC, Octavianus joined forces with Mark Antony and Marcus Aemilius Lepidus in a military dictatorship known as the Second Triumvira

Antiquities, 17 13:5 ...So Archelaus's country was laid to the province of Syria; and Cyrenius, one that had been consul, was sent by Caesar to take account of people's effects in Syria, and to sell the house of Archelaus. DATE OF BIRTH OF JESUS CHRIST

Josephus goes on to record that Cyrenius took a census of Judaea at this time.

Antiquities, 18 1:1. Now Cyrenius, a Roman senator...came at this time into Syria, with a few others, being sent by Caesar to...take an account of their substance...Cyrenius came himself into Judaea, which was now added to the province of Syria, to take an account of their substance, and to dispose of Archelaus's money; but the Jews, although at the beginning they took the report of a taxation heinously, yet did they leave off any further opposition to it... DATE OF BIRTH OF JESUS CHRIST

Since Archelaus reigned for ten years after the death of Herod, this would put the time of the census at about 6 or 7 AD. Matthew, then, states that Jesus was born when Herod was still alive, no later than 3 or 4 BC. Luke states that Jesus was born when Cyrenius was governor of Syria, which did not take place until at least ten years after Herod's death. DATE OF BIRTH OF JESUS CHRIST

It has been proposed that Luke was referring to an earlier census, and the Luke 2:2 should be translated '...this taxing was first made before Cyrenius became governor of Syria...'. There are several problems with this approach. Firstly, it stretches the plain meaning of Luke 2:2 a little. Secondly, as it stands, Luke 2:2 is in harmony with Josephus, who records no census before this point, and seems to imply that this was, in fact, the first taxation of Judea by the Romans. Finally, Matthew mentions no census in his birth narrative. Instead, he begins his story in Bethlehem, where Jesus was already born. DATE OF BIRTH OF JESUS CHRIST

In fact, the census conducted by the Roman, Cyrenius, would necessarily have

Herod (Hebrew: הוֹרְדוֹס‎ Horodos, Greek: Ἡρῴδης Hērōdēs), also known as Herod I or Herod the Great (73 BC – 4 BC in Jericho), was a Roman client king of Judaea.[1] Herod is known for his colossal building projects in Jerusalem and other parts of the ancient world, including the rebuilding of the Second Temple in Jerusalem, sometimes referred to as Herod's Temple. Some details of his biography can be gleaned from the works of the 1st century AD Roman-Jewish historian Josephus Flavius.

In Christian scripture, Herod is known for the Massacre of the Innocents, described in Chapter 2 of the Gospel according to Matthew.[2]

these posts are from wiki, and if Mary was with Child when the Census of Cyrenius was taken and Herod was still alive that would seem to put the Birth of Christ in the vicinity of 4-7 AD even though it seems the dates are a little confusing because Herod is listed as dying in 4 AD and the census did not occur until 6 or 7 AD Sugustus was still Emporer until 14 AD

"Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. 11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. 12 And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. 13 And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying,

it is truely a wonderful and beautiful account of the Birth of our Lord and Saviour, and though we celebrate with joy on Christmas Day, the Miraculous Birth and history of the Christ and His Blessings from our Father God, bestowed on we who are merely men, and longed for the Glorious Kingdom of God and the Prophesied Messiah, as He preached and taught us the Way to Salvation, and gave Himself for the sake of us all, Merry Christmas for Christ our Saviour was Born and Resurrrected, to defeat death and sin and to welcome us to the Holy Kingdom of God we are truely a Blessed by Christ in this world

here is your poem, free. I found it on page 103.
By the way,

How do we who sit at home and pray
Thank you guys and gals so far away
Who sacrifice family, friends, the U.S.A.
To fight for mom, apple pie, the American way

Ignore the dopes, they don't have much to say
Remember us, we're with you all the way
We’re here at night, and with you every day
God Bless our troops, they light the way

We think of you from Buzzards Bay
All the way to Turtle Cay
To Hawaii’s bright and beautiful Lei
Throughout the whole US of A

When skies look cloudy dark and gray
When times are tough and heck’s to pay
Just look above, come what may
Seek the Son’s bright glimmering ray

Y’all know us by our friendly Hey
If we were young we’d join the fray
Were proud of how you fight and stay
So our children can laugh and play

Swiftly win without delay
Let’s not join the old melee
Terror’s fear we say thee nay
We fight to win then go away

Life’s fun at home happy and gay
We have our choice of chick filet
Golden corral and dinner buffet
Steaks and chops just fill the tray.

Lets get back to you guys anyway
You’ve got your orders to obey
And lots more to do but that’s OK
Cause soon you’re here and where are they.

Thank You all for every day
You serve, we all say yay
God keep you safe we ever pray
You are the best I say today
Your Country Supports You
We’re Proud to Say
Until You Return, Hurray!

It's almost Christams time.
A time to give gifts,
But I got the best gift a while back for you see.
A gift was given to me,
Across the distant miles;
A package wrapped in laughter,
And filled with joy and smiles.
I pulled away the ribbons,
And took the greatest care;
When I reached into the gift,
I found friendship waiting there.
A friendship like no other,
A connection from the start;
Not one I could see, touch or feel,
Except here in my heart.
That gift so rare and precious,
Of friendship tried and true;
Touched my heart and blessed my life,
And is what I found in you.
Thank you for being my friend.

Thank you for being my friend

Title: DO YOU KNOW HOW IT FEELS

===========================
LYRICS
===========================

Do you know how it feels

Do you know how it feels to know something missing
And hear a still small voice that you just keep dismissing
Do you know how it feels to be troubled inside,
to think just for you on the cross someone died.

Do you know how it feels when he knocks to surrender,
How your sins washed away, never to be remembered,
And know that’s its real, tell me do you know how it feels.

(Chorus)

Then how does it feel to know you’re a child of the king
Your heavenly father owns everything, how does it feel
To know you are loved, by the one who created the stars up above
How does it feel , to know your alright,
when you lay your head on your pillow each night
And know that its real, aint it good to know how it feels

Do you know how it feels, when your cold heart has melted
And tears start flowing, the moment you felt it
Do you know how it feels, to know you’ve been changed
And it seems that the hold world has been rearranged
Do you know how it feels, wherever you roam,
You still get a feeling you’re not at home
Knowing heaven is real, tell me do you know how it feels.

(chorus)
Aint it good to know how it feels….

Knowing heaven is real, tell me do you know how it feels
(chorus)
Aint it good to know how it feels….
