I was just remembering this song, which was my favorite tune back in the Summer of '66.
I was 14 years old at the time...
(geez, has it really been 42 years?!)
Anyway, here it is, "Dirty Water" by The Standells
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5apEctKwiD8
... practically wore out the 45 playing it over and over again on a cheap record player.
(Any youngsters in here who don't know what a 45 is?)

Cool song, El CID!
I remember it, but I never knew what the name of it was or who it was by. Thanks for hooking me up.
Funny about that 14-15 thing...
My grown daughter, who now has two children of her own, was about that same age when this song was first out.

Here's a tune I grooved to when I was an electrician wiring houses back in the seventy's:
"A Real Mother For Ya" by Johnny 'Guitar' Watson

I just remembered something about this song...
Whenever I heard it, it aways reminded me of my now-ex wife.
Seemed like dogs were always coming up to her and sticking their muzzles in her crotch.
(I'll admit she was such a hot babe that even the dogs could pick up on it.)

Just remembered a song from the 90's that made an impression on me...
"Closer" by Nine Inch Nails
I remember seeming the video for this years ago on TV... It was pretty intense and graphic, but it must have been a cleaned up version, otherwise it wouldn't have been on TV... the one I just found on youtube is absolutely obscene, and would get me busted if I posted the link.
If you want to see it, you know how to find it.

So many music memories.
I remember my sweet Mom singing "You are the Sunshine of my Life" to me. She later gave my son a stuffed turtle that when wound also played that tune. We still have it and it still plays that tune. So whenever I hear that song I think of my Mom and my son as a baby.

I don't remember exactly what year this oldie (but goodie!) was released, but I do remember that it shot straight up to #1 on the charts....and it stayed there for several weeks. It also became the #1 song of that entire year (whatever year that was....).
Anyway, up until this song came out, I didn't listen to 'secular' music much. I only listened to Christian music, and I never listened to rock and roll - Christian or otherwise. BUT, then I heard this song, and it changed my way of thinking, forever!!!!
Now, I realize that a whole lot of you, especially the guys, are probably going to say this song isn't anything special...some of you may even say the song sucks, or something like that. Well, we all have a right to our own opinions, so all I can say to those folks is 'I'm sorry, I hope you can suffer through it just this one more time...thanks for being tolerant with me'! But, hopefully, there are also others out there who were in school, as I was, during this song's time in life, and it will bring up as many wonderful memories for you as it did for me.
