Bahrain has almost everything. If I were single, they even have British Airways Flight Attendents of the opposite sex. (Been there before quite a few times). They even have a Pizza Hut or two.

That landing - your start at 25,000 feet above the ground, and pull the throttles to flight idle. Pitch the nose up a bit until you get to flap operating range and dump all the flaps (puts on the brakes in the sky). Lower the nose, and point about 15 degrees off to the right of the runway....you are falling like a rock - about 5000 feet per minute....when you get to about 5 miles out, you turn to parallel the runway, still coming down fast.....when you get to the approach end of the runway (going in the opposite direction), you start to make a turn to line up for touchdown.....so you literally turn so the wings are about in a 50-60 degree bank.....drop the gear on short final and land....fast...

It will pucker you up if you are in the front seat. Or if you don't know what's going on the first time....or the next time. But if you're good.....it's the only way to get in. Otherwise you are a slow and predictable target. Watch the planes at the local airport.....easy targets....always coming in the same way, the same speed....you think they don't see that over there?

Occasionally, however, sanity prevails and they'll play "Free As a Bird" by the Beatles. Once they even played "Imagine" by John Lennon. There's also an occasional Elvis song, too. It's the price of working for a living, I guess.
