Rove was just overheard singing, "I'll be HOME for Fitzmas!"
I'll be Home for Fitzmas
No Frog March for me
There'll be no cell
no gates of hell
No charges laid on ME
Fitzmas Eve will find me
Where I long to BE
I'll be in the White House on Fitzmas day
With Dick and George and Condi!

I presume he will, given a little time and reflection, come around and own up to the error of his claim. I would anticipate that he would even offer you an apology.

No, the claim you made is that they are no longer dangerous due to degradation. You made no claims about delivery method.
Now..those WMDs, mostly in old arty shells could still be used in roadside bombs...which are mostly old arty shells...or in SVBIEDs...which are mostly old arty shells. So, it's still very possible that those WMDs could be delivered in such a fashion that they do great harm to dozens of not hundreds of people.

BC BC BC.
He didn't say, suggest, claim, imply or in any manner suggest that the Roadside Bombs are the WMDs. The STUFF that can be put INSIDE of some of these Roadside Bombs, however, which items which were SUPPOSED TO HAVE BEEN DESTROYED (in a VERIFIED MANNER) might very well BE WMDs.
If you crudely deliver Sarin gas or mustard gas you are still delivering Sarin gas or mustard gas. And even if that stuff is somewhat degraded, it can still maim and kill a LOT of people. Which is more or less the point. It couldn't hurt, maim, injure or kill ANYBODY if it had been destroyed -- as it was supposed to have been.

Weren't you leaving?
Anyway, Roadside bombs are principally made from artillery shells...mostly 120mm, but the bad guys love the 155mm for the obvious added punch.
The WMDs we found were principally found in old artillery shells.
it is therefore resonable to assume that had terrorists gotten their hands on these shells, they would have used them in either regular roadside bombs or suicide car bombs, where they would have potentially wreaked havoc. If you saw pictures of women in children in downtown Ramadi doused with mustard gas, you'd be screaming Bush Failed in Iraq and you know it.
The fact of the matter is that these WMDs are still incredibly dangerous, and you claimed they weren't. Since you were wrong, you then attacked the delivery method as an excuse for why they weren't dangerous anymore, which I then refuted.
So what's next? Gonna call me a liar? Make jokes about my mom?

He didn't say, suggest, claim, imply or in any manner suggest that the Roadside Bombs are the WMDs. The STUFF that can be put INSIDE of some of these Roadside Bombs, however, which items which were SUPPOSED TO HAVE BEEN DESTROYED (in a VERIFIED MANNER) might very well BE WMDs.On merit of what the Pentagon had to say of Santorum's folly ... I'd make your "MAYBE" about a 100-1 dog. Best wait for the next race, maybe you'll find a better wager.
But defense officials said Thursday that the weapons were not considered likely to be dangerous because of their age, which they determined to be pre-1991.
Pentagon officials told NBC News that the munitions are the same kind of ordnance the U.S. military has been gathering in Iraq for the past several years, and "not the WMD we were looking for when we went in this time."
-MSNBC
If you crudely deliver Sarin gas or mustard gas you are still delivering Sarin gas or mustard gas. And even if that stuff is somewhat degraded, it can still maim and kill a LOT of people. Which is more or less the point. It couldn't hurt, maim, injure or kill ANYBODY if it had been destroyed -- as it was supposed to have been.See second part of MSNBC quote.
Let's get serious, sure these things MAY retain some weapons potential ... I'll go along with that. I was only trying to clarify that they do not justify GW's pre-war rhetoric which was more the order of ...
"They got Weapons of Huge Destruction, lots of them, and we now EXACTLY where they are (just follow the mushroom clouds ... heh, heh, heh). Remain calm, no strike that, get nerovus and surrender your liberty (he, heh, heh ... I am the decider). See here's the problem with the left's position that we need to rearticulate. The position of the left has always been, up to this point, that there are no WMDs in Iraq. It wasn't, "There are no DANGEROUS WMDs in Iraq." They took the position that there are absolutely no WMDs in Iraq. If they knew anything, they'd have realize that this position was untenable from the get-go. The chances of finding even ONE sarin or mustard gas bomb in Iraq were better than 0, and the second you found one drop of VX or anything else in Iraq, their position is then rendered to be false and inaccurate.
Now they have to change positions because their original position is prove wrong. They have to say the WMDs don't matter because they weren't dangerous, and weren't the ones we were looking for. This is an obvious retreat from their original no WMDs positon, and the reason why Conservatives are furious. They have been proven wrong, even if only on a technicality, and now they're running around acting like they're still right even though it's obvious that they're not.

My position was, and is, that Iraq did not pose a sufficient threat to justify war. THAT should be the focus. Was the war justified on merit of it's centerpiece, WMD?
I've seen you make references to your "logical ability" and presume that you know what a "Strawman Argument" is. That appears to be what you are doing in defining THE left's position as if what your prescribe belongs to me and everyone else left of Benito Mussolinni.

I know this has been asked before (because I'm pretty sure I asked it) but,
Do you think that you will EVER in the rest of your life forget where you were when you first heard that news that Rove was (not) indicted?
Hm.
How does that go again?
Anyone? Bueller? Doublemint?

I don't know that it's taunting. But it IS funny.
I also hear that it qualifies as evidence (somehow) that I must be in love with the author of the OP. Wow. Who knew?
So, there are LOTS of theories about this thread and the bumps it gets.
Personally, I like it for its historical value.

9/11 changed thatRove, et al, jumped at that tragedy to ignite a pre-existing agenda for regime change in Iraq, a regime change wanted "regardless of Saddam" (is how was it written at the PNAC). But I know ... it's all just one big coincidence, the invasion, the walled cities that we are now building to house ... what did the neocons label it in the nineties, a permanent military presence.
There was no existing war with Iraq. Their military capabilities proved not much as we marched to Baghdad, and their WMD (aluminum tubes, degraded gas, and unmanned aerial drones) loom pretty pathetic for the tens of thousands who have died for the right's lack of courage. We attacked because we knew they were no threat, no challenge, the EXACT opposite that we do with Iran and N. Korea. It is almost comical - if not for all the dead, the maimed, the refugeed, the orphans, the widows. Actually, it makes me want to throw up.
