Some background:

When 10 or so of us came to Hannity back in 2004 as refugees from another message board we set up a beach house in order to get to know the other guests here at Hannity as well as to celebrate the grand season known as summer and the lazy hazy breezy days lounging on the seashores of this amazing country.

Please join in beach lovers one and all. Bring your swimsuits,water toys,towels,boats,fishing rods and suncreen. The grill is hot,the water is warm,the jacuzzi is steaming and the poolside bar is open with cold drinks for all.

Slathering on the sunscreen lounging at the side of the pool with my feet in the water for now..

It sounds good, I love to swim, be outside with lots of people but the dang sun gets to me sometimes. I'll keep checking in here. It's a good thread. :)

Swimming is the best exercise too. Invigorating and does not give the body the abuse that distance running and other sports do. But I am definitely up for some beach volleyball or some of the pool water sports.

Plenty of suntain lotion and party tent cover for those time when the sun must be avoided. And the tropical shade trees here are perfect for sitting under.

I go to the beach and stay in a beautiful home many weekends during the summer. Our friends own it, we help open it up in the spring and close it at the end summer. It's on the Indiana, Ohio and Michigan borders. There are many lakes up there but this one is very beautiful.

Mid-summer, I start getting a little bored with it so we then only go when several others are there. It's nice and relaxing though. I dig in and cook up a storm. The rest of the year we eat on the run. It's a whole different world there.

OK so I don't use tequila. I use Del Maguey Mezcal...I think it has a little more bite to it. :)
I do get lazy and just get the Margaritaville Margarita mix though. And depending on the mood we're in we'll either throw in the blender, or just serve it on ice.

I haven't gone that much. My brother lives in Cape Coral/Ft. Myers area, and I'll go down there once every couple of years and we'll try to go. The biggest fish I've ever caught was a 24 lb. Red Grouper. But I actually enjoyed catching Snook more, they put up more of a fight. As far as eating, I prefer grouper. As a side note, I missed an opportunity about 6 months ago to fish off the coast in Pensacola. Our church was sponsoring a men's retreat, but unfortunately I couldn't get off work for three days.

My little sis loves the heat. She went to Cancun one year and came back saying it was the hottest place she'd ever been. She comes over to my air conditioned house and the first thing she does is look for a blanket.

Lots of women were making their way up to the bar and ordering cosmos. :))

she ordered jelly beans in her wedding colors, then she put them in little jars w/ a "thank you" note that we had printed up at the printers.....
we also had an open bar. I think the people enjoyed the open bar more than the jelly beans. :))

Some background:

When 10 or so of us came to Hannity back in 2004 as refugees from another message board we set up a beach house in order to get to know the other guests here at Hannity as well as to celebrate the grand season known as summer and the lazy hazy breezy days lounging on the seashores of this amazing country.

Please join in beach lovers one and all. Bring your swimsuits,water toys,towels,boats,fishing rods and suncreen. The grill is hot,the water is warm,the jacuzzi is steaming and the poolside bar is open with cold drinks for all.


I'm there dreamy thanks for the invite. I'll bring my board, my packed cooler, some extra food in case we can't hook anything, if you can think of anything else I can bring let me know:cool::redface:;)

Get in the water? Not really an option for me around here.
- James River is 3 blocks away. And too polluted. I think there's still a ban on swimming because of the high bacteria count. :sick:
- Chesapeake Bay little bitty public beach is 20 minutes away. Too crowded. :neutral:
- Chesapeake Bay access from the wildlife preserve is a one mile hike. Too damn hot to hike that far through sand, bushes and brambles.
- Atlantic Ocean access, Virginia Beach, is an hour away. Not in the mood to sit in traffic trying to get there, only to have my belongings stolen from my beach towel while I'm in the water. Seems petty theft is a huge problem down there. Not to mention parking is a nightmare :mad:
- Swmming pool at Langley AFB - jam packed with kids.
- Swmming pool at Little Creek Amphibious Base - jam packed with even more kids because of all the water slides.
- Set up an above ground pool in my yard. Too many trees. I'd spend more time cleaning leaves, sticks and branches out of it than swimming.

I'll just stay home in front of the air conditioner. :cool:

That sounds incredible! And yes,it most definitely is. Further North has some spectacular coast line....crashing waves and jagged rocks. Love just sitting and watching the waves kiss the shoreline. Magnificent!

The rip tides have been crazy. Lifeguards working overtime. Boogie boards banned on some days.

My favorite time at the shore is when the tide is out. Water has been not too cold but I am thinking Pensacola is calling me. Others who have visited there or live there have convinced me with their photos it is beautiful.

Ok anyone need a beverage? We are enjoying the some rum laden beverages this evening. Went to a folk festival and saw some really good folk and blues singers.
