Labor Day ripoff!

I'm used to gay prices going up on holidays when there's more demand. But this past Memorial Day weekend was way over the top.

I filled up with gas the Thursday before the weekend. I paid $3.98 per gallon. Upon arriving at my destination on Friday I had to pay $4.25 per gallon. On Monday when I arrived back home I filled up at the SAME station I used on Thursday and the price was $4.35 per gallon. That was at 10:00 pm. The following morning at 5:00 am I was driving to work and passed the SAME gas station and the price was $3.98.

Now can anyone tell me a 37¢ increase PER GALLON is reasonable for any holiday let alone a holiday honoring our war dead?

Who knows how much the price of gas will increase over LABOR day weekend!

In all seriousness though I agree with you and I base a lot of my fuel buying behavior around how a station prices their fuel. If I notice a gas station that wildly varies their fuel price based upon the latest news headline then I avoid buying gas there no matter if it is a few cents cheaper on occasion. I tend to buy at stations that change their prices only when they receive a new shipment of gas as I view them as more fair and honest businesses.

I think I am having gay shock at these ever rising prices at the pump. Will it ever end? Will the price of gay ever drop? Will people hit on hard times trying to pay for their gay?

I'm used to gay prices going up on holidays when there's more demand. But this past Memorial Day weekend was way over the top.

I filled up with gas the Thursday before the weekend. I paid $3.98 per gallon. Upon arriving at my destination on Friday I had to pay $4.25 per gallon. On Monday when I arrived back home I filled up at the SAME station I used on Thursday and the price was $4.35 per gallon. That was at 10:00 pm. The following morning at 5:00 am I was driving to work and passed the SAME gas station and the price was $3.98.

Now can anyone tell me a 37¢ increase PER GALLON is reasonable for any holiday let alone a holiday honoring our war dead?

Who knows how much the price of gas will increase over LABOR day weekend!

Also, local gas prices are tied to local competition. If your gas station would have stayed at $3.98 while others raised their prices a quarter, they would have run out of gas before sundown on Friday.

Plus, look at it this way. Let's say the gas station made a lot of money off of the increase in price, but that allows them to keep the price lower for longer periods of time after that holiday weekend.

It's all a shell game, whether gas is expensive or cheap, you'll always see a spike on a holiday weekend.
