A sports question for TP'ers:
Do you like major league baseball?
Optional questions for those who answered "yes":
Favorite team(s)?
This year, who do you see taking division champs, wildcards, league champs, and world series?

If the Phillies make the play-offs I start watching. I can't stand to sit and watch a regular season game on TV. I'd much rather go watch the 51's live.

Let me get in here before all the Bosox fans start. Yes. St. Louis Cardinals. They are starting off much better with a young team than was expected. Check back after the all star break.

Grew up with "The Big Red Machine" as the closest team to me so they where the favorite.
Now in Az so the D-Backs are my home team.

I do watch, cheering for the Phillies.
Here's what I picked before the season
NL...Phillies, Cubs, Padres, with Mets as a wild-card
AL...Red Sox, Tigers, Mariners, with Yankees as wild-card.
Currently have massive amounts of egg on my face for the Padres, Tigers (thanks Ski) and Mariners, plus the Yankees currently sit last in their division.

My team is, I hope, obvious.
Here's what I see happening, based on the season so far:
NL - Atlanta, Chicago, Arizona, with LA the wildcard.
AL - Boston, Cleveland, LAA, with Chicago or Toronto edging out a fading Tampa Bay team.
Too soon to really call any postseason predictions, but I like Arizona/LA in the NL, and Boston/LAA for the AL.

Yes, MLB is great. And I root for the Braves. If only someone would get healthy the Braves would be sitting pretty right now. Best Bullpen in baseball with out our four best relievers. 3 will be back by mid June.

I still love baseball, but I am not as enthusiastic as I have been for most of my life, in part because of how it has deteriorated into a stats game, and because of a lot of things going on in my personal life have just obscured other, more trivial things.
That said, I still love the Dodgers.

It's like watching paint dry at forty degrees to me.
I know some people like it. Heck some of my friends can rattle off any stat from any player on any team.
I'm more concerned with my own accomplishments.

Can't watch the regular season...it bores me to tears...I've been a Braves fan as long as I can remember...but after my brother married that dang chick from Boston (love ya sis  ) I started following the Red Sox some....
I'll watch the playoffs if one of those two teams are in them...Just about always watch the World Series.

My grandpa was a Cardinal's fan, my aunt (mom) is a Cardinal's fan, I am a Cardinal's fan, my daughter is a Cardinal's fan. I guess it is in our blood. Yes we like baseball, and football, and hockey, and Nascar, and PBR. My hubby, ah not so much. The women in our family are the sports nuts.

I'd like to take this opportunity to point out to the younger fellas out there in Hansterland that this approach DOES NOT WORK in the reverse. You WILL NOT be able to get your woman to pretend she cares about baseball. At best...you might be able to get her to wear team-colored lingerie during the World Series (because it's the "lucky" thing to do)...but this DOES NOT MEAN SHE'S A BASEBALL FAN NOW.
I will go back to being very thankful that my wife will never be reading any of my posts ;)
Carry on.

Tigers are my team but there are other teams I like to see win if they aren't playing Detroit (or moving up in the division/wild-card race) which include the Twins, Royals, A's, Angels, Rays, Blue Jays, Mariners, Brewers, Marlins, Pirates, and Nationals.

If rooting for the Yankees is like rooting for the house in blackjack...rooting for the Red Sox is like rooting for the oil baron in the cowboy hat loaded down with a smoking hot brunette on one arm and a smoking hot redhead on the other, and two guys following behind carrying the dude's chips.
I hate the Red Sox because I have a soul
