i used to be into bones... and i still love house...and I watch almost nothing live! almost everything is DVR!We DVR both Bones and House. We usually watch Leno live and DVR Craig Fergeson (I have never thought that Conan was funny). Mostly everything else gets DVR'd.

Hey GW...we have satellite but no DVR...but it's on the list of things to get. It saves time in watching our favorite shows. Plus, I was up too late watching CSI:NY last night and ended up sleeping through my alarm :doh:

if it is direct tv or dish call them and tell them you want a DVR at no cost (it will cost $5 a month or so for the service) if the say no just tell them "i guess i will go to (the other one)...." I bet a shinny penny they will send you one!

that is how i got direct tv to replace my dish once. i called and they said it will be like $100 for them to do it... i said something like "that's fine dish will do it for free so cancel my service... " she did not even miss a beat she said "well sir i can waive the fees and have someone out there tomorrow morning"

a few months later i wanted a DVR... i tried the same thing. they called my bluff so i switched. then they tried to bribe me with free HBO for 3 months i said make it a year and waive the DVR charge and we have a deal she would not so i switched.

i also did it to get cheaper rate for the internet. i saw a promo for 'new costumers.' i called and asked for that. they said it was for 'new costumers' and i said 'well what kind of deals do you have for former costumers?'

when i explained that i was going to get the 'new costumer' price or i was going to be a 'former costumer' i got the lower rate.

oh yeah.... if i get bad service i call. sometimes they ignore me sometimes they appease me... but it almost never hurts to call. and always ask to take to a supervisor. and ask there name and if they have an ID number or extent ion. and repeat it and even ask how it is spelled... that way they think you wrote it down. then ask for what you want and see how they react.

I used to use the 1-800 numbers a lot more than I do now, but that was just because I wanted free stuff (when I was a drinker I actualy called Anhauser Bush and got free t-shirts and mugs shot glasses etc..when I got out of date beer.. Free frozen dinner coupons and free diapers by telling them the other guy was better )
That was a different me. But I still don't hesitate to call to get satisfaction if I feel I've been wronged or can get a better price.

becasue my wife did not crate our little dog last night and she is the only one that pees on the floor (the little dog not my wife). So when i was crossing the living room and the floor goes squish and my foot gets wet and cold and then i smell pee... and it is not so strong as to be cat pee i guess i can safely say it was not only dog pee but Ginger's pee.

yup and she was free.... she followed my wife home. we got all our animals for free. 1 cat was free from a shelter (a runt that had to be bottle fed so they did not charge), a cat from a parking lot, and stray dogs)

The lighter ones seem to get darker as they age except around their muzzles. They are such beatuiful dogs.
What's her temperment like? Greys are really mellow but will run till they crash. Shepherds are ultra protective but fun loving like a lab. I only know this cuz my hub used to raise Greys and my brother has a pure breed Black German Shepherd.

in fact with our daughter she was supposed to be a miscarriage. the test all showed she was not going to make it. so we said well lets wait a few weeks and see what happens. and low and behold a heartbeat! she was doing great.

It's funny....some parents complain b/c their kids never come to visit. My husband and I complain b/c our kids are ALWAYS coming over. :))

wow.....my dad was a twin. He has a sister.

my kids were in swimming lessons. One day one of my friends had somewhere that she had to go right after swimming lessons. Now the kids are little, right? I mean, they're in swimming lessons. Anyway, the lessons lasted for 45 minutes, and then there was 15 minutes of "free time". On this particular day my friend told her son that he couldn't have "free time" b/c they had to leave. He wanted his free time. He got up on the diving board....she yelled out, "You jump off that board and I'm gonna whip your ass!!" The kid literally stood there, thought about it......and yelled back, "OK, but I still gotta do it!!!" He jumped. She turned to me and said, "Well crap....now you know I have to whip his ass!!" :))

I have been to so many wedding receptions where there are bottles of bubbles on the tables...guests surround the bride and groom and blow bubbles :D It's a ton of fun...we did it at our wedding.
