I paint mine for the summertime and wearing sandals. Hubby helps once in a while. And I'd rather do my own pedicure 'cause I know for a fact my clippers & scissors are clean. I don't want to risk getting an infection from someone else's toe-funk.

If you gt a pedicure at a spa like at Nordstroms they do the whole serene room, with the warm towels over your eyes and around your neck, then they exfoliate and massage your ankles and calves. They have the spa-like music playing. It is unbelievable. And it's only like $45. for the whole thing. That's a really good price for an hour at Nordstroms.

Good morning, ladies! For those of you who will be using a tan-in-the-can product this summer:
I tried the Neutrogena MicroMist Tanning Sunless Spray #3. It works pretty well, except... you're supposed to hold the can 6" away and spray. Well, the spray is clear and you can't really see where you've sprayed your skin. A few hours later, I had brown stripes. And white patches where I thought I sprayed but must have missed. So the next time I sprayed a few days later, I lightly rubbed the product in and around my skin & got an even tan. Just something to keep in mind for spray tan-in-the-can products.

Well, seeing that I cannot go in the sun/tanning beds to tan, I'm either got to be satisfied with the "casper glow" or "tan in a can"
Hopefully I'll be less stripey....

Ah yes. Don't have to worry about working hard, my parents have drilled that into my head :D The thing to worry about is messing up orders on the dadgum computer. Other than that, it was okay. I had one slightly drunk dude and I had to get his phone number, so I said, "Could I get your phone number, please?" He looked at me with this weird look and said, "What?" Then I realized what he was thinking and I was like, "Oh, no no no no no!" And just skipped the phone number thing

OK, Arya, CGU, and Melinda, you got it!
I am ticked off because of an ex boyfriend of mine. This man was a total jerk to me. Cheated on me multiple times, lied to me more times than I could count, and worst of all, would not drive me to the hospital when I was hemorrhaging from having a miscarriage. I had to drive myself. Needless to say, I didn't make it to the hospital. I pulled over at a gas station and stumbled in, telling them to call 911. By God's Grace, there was already an EMT there who helped me a great deal before the ambulance arrived. Then the jerk told me that he couldn't come to the hospital when I needed surgery after the miscarriage because his father "wouldn't let him use the truck." His father later told me that it was a lie. He cried over his ex girlfriend having an abortion of a baby that was not even his, but didn't care when I lost our 2 babies. He'd tell me that he would call, but when he didn't, it usually meant that he was lying to me, cheating, doing drugs, or something else he shouldn't have been doing.
I know that I was a different person back then. But I still find it difficult to forgive myself for putting up with his behavior(and him). I find it difficult to forgive him.

I know that I was a different person back then. But I still find it difficult to forgive myself for putting up with his behavior(and him). I find it difficult to forgive him.
OK...this is just my opinion. I have never had a bad boyfriend relationship. (I married my first boyfriend.) But I have had other people in my life that have treated me wrong, one being my own dad. What I have learned is also going to sound like a cliche, but it's only because it's true. You must forgive yourself. You have grown. You have changed. Yes, you wasted too many precious years with this terrible jerk, but don't waste any more years by torturing yourself. The past is behind you, and you can not change it. I know you wish you could, but you can't. Forgive yourself and do not waste anymore time on this selfish horrible person. I don't know if you are a Christian, but if so, pray, pray, pray. It will not happen overnight, but it will happen. As a Christian, I also believe you must forgive the "ex". God can and will give you strength that you never knew you had. You can start with baby steps. "God, please just don't let me HATE him." "God, please let me see him the way You see him." You don't have to start w/ love and forgiveness...those have to be worked up to. You mentioned he did drugs. Try to understand how terribly sad and pathetic his life is and how terribly sad and pathetic he is. When you look at him as the outward lying human he is, you feel hate. Which is definitely understandable. But look deep into the sad sad portions of his soul. Something is definitely missing in him...and that is just sad. Pray for God to restore you, but also pray for God to restore him. And in saying this, I realize it could take years to forgive him...please, please forgive yourself immediately. But if you hold onto hate, it will only hurt you. Don't let him to continue hurting you. You've got to let go of the hate.
I'll get off my soapbox now. I am here to listen.

Hadassah,
I thought a bit about my last post, and I hope that I didn't make light of your ex's behaviour. I believe his behaviour to be appalling, and I believe he is one sorry excuse for a human being. However, the point I was attempting to make was that you must begin to heal and you can only heal by forgiving yourself and by letting go of the anger, hurt and hate which he caused. I'm sorry that I wasn't more clear about that in my previous post.

Wow Hadassah, and ty for the vent. If something bothers you that much-regardless of how long ago it was, vent!
Dunno if this would help out or not, since everyone is different and reacts to situations like this differently. But try to see why you cannot forgive yourself first for what happened back then-and how you acted (or did not act) back then. Once you understand this, perhaps you can understand your feelings towards him, even the hateful ones, and then perhaps you can then "let go" and forgive both yourself and him.
That is a lot to undertake. I have been very angry at certain ex-boyfriends in the past who really screwed me over. I realized I wasn't "getting over it" since I didn't understand why I was so angry still. I realized that a part of me was angry at myself mostly, and once I realized that I could bit by bit forgive myself, and then him, and move on. I think a part of me is still angry over certain issues, but for the most part I feel better overall.
Again, we're all different and handle things differently-but I hope this can help w/ something! :)

Great advice. And definitely don't rush it...I've found when I had to let someone go from my life, I basically had to go through the 12 steps of grief just as if that person had died. (I suppose b/c the relationship died) But on the other hand, don't hold onto any one-step of the process too long either. And remember there are many, many wonderful men in this world...and you have many, many wonderful friends in this world also! We're here for you.
...and vent anytime you wish. sometimes you think you've put something behind you, only to have it come smack you right back upside the head.

I absolutely LOVE the beach. I told my husband if he ever wants to get rid of me, but w/out the nasty divorce, just buy me a beach house...he'll never see me.
I usually always have a book or a stack of magazines. Usually no brainer reading so that I can also people watch. Obviously a lot of water to drink, but also a nice cold alcoholic drink. Usually something "tropical" from the local bar. (about the only time I do drink "tropical" drinks.) I love anything and everything about the beach. Especially the people watching. I usually lay out and read and watch people...then I cool off in the water...jump the waves, body surf, etc...then take a nice long walk down the beach.

I love to go to the beach with my fav book, plenty of H2O, some light snakkies such as friuit or crackers, and an umbrella.
I can't stay out in the sun, so I'm under the umbrella. But I love to swim and the atmosphere of being there so that makes up the difference for not being able to tan.

Yeah, having fair-skinned genes does have it's advantages w/fine or light colored hair.

lol you'd think that but my grandpa calls me his little gringa (sort of a mean way to say white girl in Spanish), "aye mija, tu eres mi gringa bonita."
The rest of my family and friends call me the "white Mexican". Which is when I have to remind them I'm only 1/4 and it's Spanish/Mexican mix and Spanards are European and don't have the darker complexion of Mexicans so I think I got the skin color genes from my great-grandma who came from Spain instead of my great-grandpa who came from Mexico. If you know someone who can sew well, these patterns aren't difficult. I believe you can find them on the web-but I don't remember which site has the patterns. Try doing a search for them or I'll look when I get home (at work right now).
What's better is that they cost less, and you can pick the colors/fabric that complements you best.
And you may just start a trend when others see you wearing them ;)

I like that bottom one a lot too, Jesso. It would be great for things like piano recitals, or if I play at more school dinners next semester (because you know the diva is supposed to be the snazziest one  ). I think it would look better in a light blue and the other one with the roses should be red. That would be hot.

Have you tried going to thrift stores like the Salvation Army or Goodwill? Sometimes you can find vintage clothes in good condition for cheap. All they need is to be drycleaned/washed. I buy cheap, old sweaters at thrift stores and unravel them for the yarn to crochet & knit blankets and pillows. I save lots of money that way.

Well? Did you get your nails done yet? Did you go with the flower on a nail?

They found out I believe 5 or 6 weeks after the season finale. Filming had been done for a long time. The ending was perfect to lead into season 3. The Sophie twist at the end just made me stare at the screen with my mouth open. I keep waiting to see if anyone else (Sci-Fi Channel) picks it up.

I most certainly hope they do (or someone else). That show, like Firefly, ended far too prematurely for such a wonderfully produced and entertaining show. I need to chk out the website for any updates...

So I get my paycheck today and I know for a fact it's going to be pretty good especially with commission figured into it (gotta love selling those $2000 wedding sets) anyway I always said I wouldn't get that tattoo I wanted until I had a job and enough money. Well I've got a job and I know I have enough money. I'm thinking about getting it as a present for myself this Monday when I'm off work. I'm going to have to hint to my mom that I'm doing it though so she won't completley freak out like she did when I pierced my tragus (little cartilage bump on the ear).

lol yeah, too bad she lives 8 hours away and can only yell over the phone. But she won't tell me I can't do it. When ever I ask to do something she says "well you're almost 20 years old you can do whatever you want, even if it upsets me or your grandparents you need to make your own decisions" that's when I say "soooo what about a tattoo" and and she just looks me like she wants to tell me "no" but she won't because I'm "almost 20" and need to make my own decisions.

Hey do it. We all must learn from and experience our own choices. Some we are pleased for and some we regret. Time will tell on the tattoo one.
If I could
If I could
I'd protect you from the sadness in your eyes
Give you courage in a world of compromise
Yes, I would
If I could
I would teach you all the things I've never learned
And I'd help you cross the bridges that I've burned
Yes, I would
If I could
I would try to shield your innocence from time
But the part of life I gave you isn't mine
I'll watch you grow, so I can let you go
If I could
I would help you make it through the hungry years
But I know that I can never cry your tears, babe
But I would If I could
If I could
In a time and place where you don't wanna be
You don't have to walk along this road with me
My yesterday won't have to be your way
If I knew
I'd try to change the world I brought you to
Now there isn't much more that I can do
But I would If I could
If I could
I would try to shield your innocence from time
But the part of life I gave you isn't mine
I'll watch you grow, so I can let you go
If I could
I'd help you make it through the hungry years

Yea, it's steamy here too.
On Saturday I am doing a Celtic/Scottish performance with the troupe, outside. It's going to be around 90 degrees that day. At least we are in the shade, but phew!
Our outfits are long sleeved (traditional) and stockings under the skirts....Plus doing all the leg work and dancing around in the heat doesn't help!
But we do have a lot of fun, and the crowds enjoy the show. We do some traditional folk dances, but throw in more recognizable ones like Riverdance and Victory (from Lord of the Dance).
Just hope I don't sweat on anyone! Har Har.
