Last season they showed some promise...but no consistency.

I think they'll be playoff-bound this year...deep playoffs next year. They were losers last year and they will be losers this year...

Let's see Redskins season was like this:

Home Skins beat Bears
Away Skins beat Cowboys ( Well, look at that! 14-13)
Home Skins beat Seahawks
Away Broncos beat Skins
Away Chiefs beat Skins
Home Skins beat 49ers (52-17)
Away Giants shut out Skins (36-0)
Home Skins beat Eagles
Away Buc's BARELY beat Skins (36-35) (that was a disgusting game)
Home Raiders beat Skins
Home Chargers beat Skins
Away Skins beat Rams
Away Skins beat Cardinals
Home Skins beat Cowboys ( Look again! 35-7...that doesn't look like improvement to me? )
Home Skins beat Giants
Away Skins beat Eagles

Skins Record-10-6; Cowboys Record 8-8 (Is that right?)

So at the end of the season, the Skins beat the Cowboys BOTH times they played them AND had a better record. Dallas didn't even make it to post season PLAY.

Not saying the Skins were in their glory. I actually stated last year that I had NO expectation of the going all the way (I hoped...but don't we all?)

Within the next two years, we will win the Super Bowl. Joe Gibbs had to get the team back on track and we are well on our way.

Gibbs is rusty from being out of football for so long. Pinning your hopes on him isn't a good thing.

I'll remind you of all of this when Dallas wins the division and coasts into the playoffs.

I think the line I wear is called the Angel series (or something like that)

http://www2.victoriassecret.com/collection/sort/?cgnbr=OSFRGZZZZZZ&rfnbr=2542

I just looked it up, it is called the Dream Angel series. It is a pretty soft scent...a little smoky (I can't wear heavy scents because I am allergic to bee stings and the heavier the scent, the more likely I have a swarm bugging me).

I don't usually wear the flowery smells because they are just too sweet for me. I prefer the spicier scents.

I haven't even set foot in a VS store for a long time. Last time I was there, a stripper was paying for her purchase with singles. (I'm not kidding.) That's not why I don't shop there anymore, though. I can't get my fat butt into anything they sell anymore. Hopefully my new diet and exercise routine will remedy that soon enough!

I have a lot of allergies and asthma, so I can't wear heavy perfumes. Even if I get a magazine with the perfumed inserts, I start to sneeze. I wear a perfume called Amazing Grace by Philosophy. It has a very light, musk-based scent. It smells very clean.

:shifty: Ok... So I wasn't orignally gonna post in this thread...just b/c I'm a part of a bunch of other threads already here in TP...but then, I figured the girls of the board might know better than the boys.

I'm having a hair crisis! -Well... Ok, so it's not so bad as crisis as just plain annoying. I was born with frizzy curly hair, and I've learned how to control it over the years so it generally comes out pretty cute. However... that's only when I haven't straightened it. -I use an iron to do it; using a hairdryer only frizzes my hair beyond all reason. (Seriously, it's a tight fit though doors. )

ANYWAY, I can't figure out how to get rid of the static! I don't think it's frizz b/c I've used all the anti-frizz stuff I can find, and nothing works. As soon as I put it on, it does -and I think that's because it makes my hair heavier... But once it dries, the flyaways return. On its own, without any air between the strands, it looks fine. It's apparently a volume thing. Shampoos and conditioners so discriminate against me! :(( They have volumizing hair lines, but no devolumizing hair lines -and that last one is what I need. I have an over abundance of volume, and I can't figure out how to get rid of it!!

My hair is already pretty long -mid way down my back, so it's already slightly heavy. And I'll be getting my hair re-layered on Saturday, but that really only does so much... All the people who I've ever gotten my hair cut and styled by before have said they think it looks good this way, and I guess it doesn't look bad...except from my POV. It's slightly difficult to see through it all. Does anyone here have any solutions? I don't want to pull it up; I like having it down.

Yea, I'm serious. Mayonnaise is good for hair because of the egg proteins. But don't use more than a little dab. It's very greasy. Use too much and you'll be shampooing your head about a dozen times to get it out (speaking from personal experience  ) Doesn't matter if it's light mayo, either. If it doesn't work, then it's not like you wasted a pile of money, right?

I've never heard of that. So you what? Take a dab into the shower and run it through your hair then rinse it out? I mean I can't imagine leaving it in is why I aked. I've heard the same thing about vinager too, that if you're supposed to do that about once or twice a year and it restores something to your hair.

ChloeP

I used to do the mayo thing all the time, but for conditioning, not so much for static. I have the kind of hair that has broken many a comb. I would put it on before shampoo and wrap it in a plastic bag and then sit with it for like 30 minutes, then shampoo...I used gobs of it too...never had a problem with it being too greasy, but I've got very dry curly hair.

Vinegar is good (especially red wine vinegar) because it strips all the junk from your hair, hair spray residue, etc., it will also bring out red highlights if you have them.

Probably use it like a conditioner, leave it on for a bit and then rinse it all out and shampoo. I rinse with cooler water to add shine.

I've used mayo both ways. As a conditioner and then rinsed out. And as a mousse kind of thing where I took a tiny dab and smoothed it through my hair to keep the frizzies away.

I've tried mayo as a conditioner but it gets the shower floor really slippery. You have to clean it out afterward really well.

I like vinegar as a rinse. It makes your hair really shiny and doesn't weigh it down. A cup of water to 1/4 cup of any kind of vinegar, I use apple cider vinegar. Run it through your hair and rinse. Suprisingly there is no smell.

SarahG
April 17th, 2006, 3:06 pm
I've never heard of that. So you what? Take a dab into the shower and run it through your hair then rinse it out? I mean I can't imagine leaving it in is why I aked. I've heard the same thing about vinager too, that if you're supposed to do that about once or twice a year and it restores something to your hair.

Oops, I didn't see this before my post. I use vinegar about once a month.

And I'm socially disabled..............

I always end up waiting too long to make my move and the slow dances come on and I realize it's getting late and if I get drunk enough I might muster up the courage to ask a girl to dance...

Let's face it............I'm inadequate.............:(...............

But on the bright side I've been happily in a relationship for nearly fifteen years so don't tell 'er that I was here to meet girls because she's the one wearing the trousers in the relationship...

Lol, yeah. Most of the time, I wear it curly. I only straighten it to see how long it really is every now and then. It dries my hair out major to do it, so I'll only straighten it maybe once a month, more like once every two months.

Generally, I use various conditioners, gels, and hairsprays to control my frizz. Not all at the same time, of course. -I just flip them around so my hair doesn't decide to "get immune" to it or whatever. :D Best two lines that work on my hair: Tresseme and Pantene Pro-V. -I don't use the latter all that often, though, b/c the lady who cuts my hair says they stick a lot of wax in their products and it's nearly impossible to get all that residue out.

Ah...well to be honest, when it's straight I don't wash it every day. If I'm going to straighten it I do it on a Sunday or at night, then I sleep on it. Then I curl the ends the next day. For whatever reason...it looks much better when I don't wash it!!! But, that said, I have very dry hair, I can go 6 days without washing it and there won't be a hint of greasiness to it. If your hair gets greasy, this won't help.

Anyway, when I straighten it I just blow it dry brushing it the whole time, then I flat iron.

Oh...and I use a liquid gel, like Nexxus Versastyle or Paul Mitchell's version of the same thing (I can't think of what it is called!)

I have very thick, versatile hair. I can wear it with a bit of a wave (loose wringlets), or straighten it by blowing it out. I used to wash my hair every other day, now I'm down to twice a week. Because it's thick, my hair takes about a good half-hour to 45 mins to dry completely. It's a chore. My commute to work is about an hour and a half, so I needed to cut down on some of my primping. If I wear my hair wavy, I pretty much have to wash it the next day, cause once I sleep on it - oh my - I look like Einstein!

I broke down and bought one of those ceramic hair straighteners. It works really well, but it cost over $100. Kind of crazy, I know.

mine is the same way...I spend half my time in the morning upside down drying my hair, and it's still damp when I leave.

I had a flat iron that was awesome...it got super hot and did a great job, and it was a cheapy. The spring in it broke. I bought a new one and it sucks...but because I have one I can't justify spending the money on a "good" one *sigh*

Washed my hair this a.m., only had about 25 minutes to dry it. It looks like I've been hit with a frizz bomb (as my husband so delicately puts it). Plugging in that iron tomorrow a.m. My hair doesn't so much grow "long", as it grows "out". It always stops at my shoulders - won't go much longer - then it starts to sort of "branch outward" so I look like a red-headed Roseanne Rosanadana.

Lol. When I was little, my mom used to fix my hair all the time. I remember that for some reason, on Fridays, she'd always put it in a long braid... Since it was just the weekend, I wouldn't shower until Sunday morning for church, and when I would take the braid out, my hair was always still wet from Friday morning. With the bun, it's usually still mostly wet... However, I can use a hairdryer at that point while it's still in the bun. Works well... For whatever reason, it doesn't frizz nearly as bad.

Terri, the Paul Mitchell stuff is called Super Sculpt. If you use either of these products keep in mind they are LIQUID gel....careful pouring them out!!!! :)

Coolness! Of course, I'm back to curly hair for at least another month... But thanks for the tip; I'll test it out next time.

I use it when I'm curly too...it isn't as heavy and doesn't weigh down the top.

btw...I have a friend who used to do hair, she says that people who don't let their hair dry before putting it up can actually grow mold in their hair. careful...

The easiest way to tell if you'd look good bald is if you look good in a cowboy hat. This isn't a hard and fast rule, but it's usually pretty accurate. If you look good in a cowboy hat you won't look good bald. If you look like a dork in a cowboy hat you'll probably look pretty good bald. Needless to say, I don't own any cowboy hats.;)

One of these days I'm going to have to find a place that knows how to handle hair like mine. I like it to be a reasonable length, but a conservative style (your basic side part, sides usually behind the ears). Unfortunately, when the blasted hair lady wets my hair, it curls. My hair is very wiry and thick. (If I let it dry without blow-drying and brushing out...think "Napoleon Dynamite"...*shudder*)

Unfortunately, when they get it wet (and it curls up) they can't tell the true length or how it lies...and I end up having to touch it up myself when I get home...:wall:

I don't know about this line of thinkin' ALBOB? Dwight Yoakum looks mighty good in his cowboy hat, but he's not as appealing when he takes it off (thinning hair).

Petroleum jelly.

**ALBOB bites lip so as not to make any crude jokes.**

Seriously. Try rubbing some Vaseline on it. That will usually remove scuff marks from the sides of shoes.

That's awesome about this weekend!Yeah, it has been in the works for a loooooong time. He is very nervous. It's funny because the whole 'where God closes a door he opens a window' has really been working in an amazing way throughout this. When he couldn't find a church to serve at as a deacon, one became available right down the street...then when that bishop told my husband that he couldn't use him anymore once he was ordained a priest, another priest contacted hubby and hubby talked to his bishop. Now hubby is assisting at his church and can continue once he is ordained. God is good! He hasn't even left us any time to worry (not that we have been, we knew that somehow, something would happen).

So, Saturday is the big day.

Absolutely awesome. The Assoc. Pastor at my church when I was growing up tried to convince me to go into the seminary. I never understood why he really wanted me to do it. It's sort of something you have to decide on your own.

By the way, have you seen the show "God or the Girl" yet? It's on either A&E or Bravo. Can't remember which. Anyway, it follows young men who are deciding whether to become priests or not. Very cool show. I think it just started.

Try that Mr. Clean Eraser. I swear, it cleans up EVERYTHING! Start with a portion of the shoe that isn't so noticeable, and see if it causes any damage before you use it on the whole shoe. Those things are pretty amazing. You need to wet it before use.

Good morning, girls! TGIF!

:shifty: It took me years to finally remember what TGIF means... I always had to ask, "What's that mean, again??" My junior year or something, I finally had to tie the meaning to the restaraunt to be able to remember without asking... :eh:

I am so happy it's Friday! And I had last Monday off, so it's been a short week. Anyone have any plans for the weekend? It's supposed to rain here tomorrow, but I'm hoping Sunday will pull through...

We were going to finish up the yard work, but it's going to rain. So I guess it's going to be PPV movies and pizza.

Not really much to see at this point. We have a 67" TV. (My baby:mrgreen: ) The family room has a recessed area that's 12' wide, 8' high and 2' deep in one wall. So far I've built a full width platform the raises the TV about 8" and centers it in the recess. This weekend I'm building two towers to flank it and then I'll build a third "tower" which will be placed on it's side and bolted between the tops of the other two so it fills the gap above the TV. This is all being done in maple plywood and then trimmed out in solid maple. When I get further along I'll snap some pics and send them to you so you can post them here. I don't quite have the hang of that yet.

Awesome. Would love to see the progress of it. Going to keep the towers open or have glass doors on them? What style is it?

West bank, near George Washington Birthplace National Monument.I want to take my kids down to Mount Vernon soon (before it gets too hot). I went there once in the middle of July when we had relatives visiting (very hot, very 'historic' with no air conditioning...lol). We are closer to the Bay...we are up by Ft. Meade. Hubby works down your way though.

You guys would have to face the wrath of Scamp, the Country Chihuahua. He doesn't like anything in his Scamp-ground. Ask the neighborhood skunks, deer, rabbits, groundhogs and foxes.

Completely open. I don't think my skill level will support doors just yet. I guess you'd call it contemporary. Very plain, you could go so far as to call it stark. I want the wood itself to be what catches your eye, not the woodwork. I'm using 3/4" ply and will face it with 1" or 2" maple trim to give it a thick solid look. No fancy moulding or routered edges. Everything will be standard 45 degree miter joints.

Our family room, dining room and kitchen all flow into each other. It's one huge room (50' long) that has tiny little stub walls providing "seperation". That's how I convinced my wife we needed such a big TV. "Honey, it has to be that big so you can see it from the kitchen." After she got done beating me up she kind of liked the idea. The kitchen and dining room cabinets are maple so I figured I'd stick with that for consistency. Besides, I love maple. Wish I could afford some birdseye or quilted, but the plain stuff I have is still pretty nice.

I've made tons of storage cabinets for the garage and hobby rooms, but this is the first attempt at furniture grade stuff. I'm taking it reeeeeeal slow.
