I'm not a boy, but I'm ok with them... they only show when you want them to be seen. I'm opposed to tatoos that may be distracting depending on what you may be doing someday...make sense? Like...if someday you might be a ministers wife...the Marilyn Manson tatoo on your forearm could be less than appropriate.

You see that's what I always thought, but I wanted a lower... actually mid back tattoo, it's a really small one that's a crecent moon with sun rays coming off it. It means that God is the sun and we are the moon and we can't reflect God's love unless we turn our face to Him and with out Him we can't make our own light, like the moon, only reflects the sun's light and it can't make it's own. But I've heard that boys see girls with lower back tattoos and tend to think of them as "easy" or something. But I just figured that'd be the best place to get it where you can hide if if you want but still show people.

I don't know...I think maybe it's the thongs sticking out of the back of their pants and the barely there tank tops that make the boys think they are easy....:))

And those "shorts" my brother and I refere to as denium underwear. I mean I am a teenager and do wear stuff some older people don't wear, but I have some modesty. I have my belly button pierced but I don't feel the need for the whole world to see it everyday, mostly just when I go swimming. And I think I look pretty good but my mom reminds me that one day it will all go away but I also don't feel the need to show every inch of my body that's allowed by law. I think girls look better when they're covered up to a degree. Other wise they just look nasty and desperate for attention, and the wrong kind of attention too.

There is an art to being sexy and classy. And it is not in the ways that some girls choose. One way draws attention but with respect the other way just draws attention much like a freak show would and with that it often draws the freaks.

It depends on the back and it depends on the tattoo. I definitely like a woman who's shaped like a WOMAN, but there are limits. And when she's LONG since passed that limit it's time to put some clothes on, not show off more skin. As far as the tat? I like them to be tasteful. Obviously that's very subjective, but it's difficult to be tasteful when she's sporting more ink than a newspaper press.

Tatoos are ok on women, but I prefer them to be in spots that aren't so "out there", like the small of your back, butt, etc. (Legs are ok, too, but nothing too big.) I don't like women who have them on their chest, bicep., it's really not feminine. They do fade overtime, though. Take a look at some old guys who have them. I couldn't even read my dad's as he got older.

Dreamy is right, there is an art to having class and being sexy. Sadly, what a lot of women view as sexy is really just kind of slutty.

Sounds like my Halloween costume this year, I was a lady ganster and I had my knee high boots on with fishnets. My mom and grandma told me it was pretty hot, but then got all serious and told me I couldn't wear them any other time lol.

So it sounds like most guys are ok with resonable, small, and tastefull tattoos that are in femine places? I always thought chest and arm tattoos looked tacky on women.

I keep looking for a way to say that without sounding sexist. But it's true, especially arm tattoos. Women just don't look right with tattoos on their arms.

Sexiest tattoo I've ever seen was a pair of lips on the Southbound side of a Northbound woman. It looked like someone had put on some hot pink lipstick and gave her right cheek a big ole kiss. Damn, that was sexy.

I like ankle tats, too. They aren't noticeable at first. Very subtle. The thing with me is - what if you get a big ol' tat on your bicep, then you meet a nice guy, want to settle down, get married, pick your wedding dress and - there it is in all your wedding pictures - just so inappropriate...

I knew a girl who had a tattoo of a black widow spider on her wrist (pretty!). She was trying to get it lazered off. Looked very painful.

there are a few reasons why I don't have the one on my back I was talking about earlier, the third reason is the main one:

1) mommy claims she'll kill me, but every piercing I've got she's told me the same thing "you're almost 20, you're an adult it's your own body I'm not paying for it"

2) they be expensive and I'm lacking a job

3) the disease I have that put me in the hospital would make the healing process slow because my body is in the process of healing itself (my last ear piercing just healed and I got them pierced in January)

I have one tat. Took me over ten years to find the one I really wanted. Got it over 16 years ago. Like it just as much now as I did when I first got it. If it's something you REALLY want and you find a picture that truely means something to you I say, go for it. But do not make the decision lightly. It scares the hell out of me when I see teenagers walking around covered from head to toe with ugly ink. They've ruined thier chances at a normal life and won't even realize it for years to come. When they finally do realize it'll be WAY too late.:frown:

Kim, I'm sorry to hear that you were sick, and I am glad to hear that you are getting better. Please don't get a tattoo until you are healthy enough. I know the industry has changed, and the process is much more hygenic now, but give yourself time to heal.

Keep your design in mind, and start putting a little bit of money away, so that maybe in a year or two (or three), you'll have enough cash to pay for it.

No it's ok, I have a disease called Ulcerative Colitis. My doctor told me there was nothing I could do about it because they don't know what causes it. It's a disease that attacks the colon, the theory right now is that it's an auto-immune disease where the colon's immune system kicks in and attacks all the good bacteria and doesn't turn off so it just sort of eats away at itself. Mine is a sever case and my colon is about as thin as a piece of paper (or it was now that's the healing it's probably better) and my doctor told me I'm really lucky it didn't rupture - I would have died had that happened. There is no cure save removing the colon itself so I have to take medication for the rest of my life. Which is supposed to be really helpful, but I will get sick again at some point because the meds only relieve the symptoms not the disease. So no one knows if that will be in a few months or 15 years from now.

So my body fighting so hard on the disease is what prevents the tattoo for the most part right now. Like I said it even slowed down the healing of my ear piercings I got two months ago so the doctors say a tattoo would be fairly dangerous to get soon because it would take a long time to heal.

Wow, so sorry to hear that. Seems like you're holding up pretty well considering what a struggle it must be. Big time respect to you. I assume you're on a special diet that keeps you pretty well "cleaned out"?

No my special diet just makes sure it doesn't agiatate my body, the diet is I can eat whatever I like as long as it doesn't upset my system, like spicy foods or really greasy foods.

Really I've never used that line before. I really can't use tools and refuse to fix anything, especially flat tires that's what grandpa, daddy, brother, and any other boy is for, to do it for me. ;)

You're very lucky to have those men around. Some of us had to learn to fix things by ourselves out of sheer necessity because no one was around to help. It was my dad actually, who taught me how to fix my car when I was a teenager. I can do minor repairs and know enough about auto repair not to get ripped off by a mechanic I'm paying to do the major repairs. It's amusing to see the looks on their faces when I question jobs and save myself money.

My spring flowers died. :( We had a cold snap a couple of nights ago and the daffodils withered up. But I'm waiting for the irises. Another storm is blowing through Mississippi right now, headed for Atlanta. We'll keep praying.

I told my hubby if we move back to MS, we're getting a storm shelter if I have to get a shovel and spend the winter digging a big enough hole myself. I remember what the bad weather was like and losing power. Hopefully your family won't suffer any home damage. They're in my prayers.

Thanks!

But digging a storm shelter isn't the best idea for the coastline. As we got to see last summer, it's not the winds you worry about. Tidal surge and a below ground storm shelter...really bad combo.

Did the tidal surge reach the north side of I-10 above Ocean Springs? That's where we'd like to move to.

Sorry, I missed this post earlier.

Some areas of St. Martin was hit pretty hard. Any area along the river got the surge...some areas as far as 20 miles inland. The surge traveled right up the rivers here. I know people in Escatawpa that lost everything.

We are looking to buy land in St. Martin or D'Iberville...away from the river of course.

The majority of the areas north of 10 away from rivers and creeks did fine.

Waterfront property is not the rage it once was. But you would never know by the prices.

So, my husband is probably in a situation similar to yours...I told him that the only clothing I didn't want was black and white this time...I got a green pantsuit (with butterflies and dragonflies embroidered on it), a cream colored 'formal type' of dress with beading (I absolutely love this dress...it has a wrap that goes with it and it is very gauzy and feminine...most of my 'dresses' are suit dresses), an oatmeal colored pantsuit (cross between grey and cream), and I still ended up with a black and white A cut dressy shirt with black capris. Plus I got a few nice shirts.

Now I need to go shoe shopping for shoes to match my clothes...lol

The ONLY store my husband won't go into is Victoria Secret's and that is ONLY because he can't stand the smell...so when I shop there...I do it on my own.

However, we do have a Frederick's of Hollywood downstairs in our local mall...and I do have articles of clothing from it. It is actually one of the prettier stores in the mall (all glass windows, always very pretty nightclothes in the windows). I think Spencer's Gifts is worse than Frederick's of Hollywood.

So Tex, did I get what you meant? ;)

LOL No wonder it's fun since since you go so seldom. I have been shopping for my vacation which is fun but just run of the mill everyday shopping I really dread. My kids shop for their own clothes usually but sometimes my daughter and I go out together for lunch and an afternoon of walking and talking with shopping added in. It is just a big store, but they call it a mall. It is fun to walk around in there and see the stuff they have. Furniture shopping I can't stand. I am too picky. I have a set idea in my head of what I want and I get frustrated when I have to go to seven different stores to find it.

OK, don't tell the guys this but, I love to go antiquing with my wife. We're both into carnival glass (aka" Depression glass) and we look for new pieces wherever we go. Got a pretty extensive collection after almost 19 years of marriage. Don't get to do it as much out here in Vegas, not many antique stores. But when we go back to Lancaster, PA to visit her family we always set aside one whole day for the antique stores.

I like antiquing, too, but unfortunately in this area, things are either picked through or way overpriced. I like depression glass, and always think of starting a collection. Never get around to it though. I also like Fiestaware, the old lead-ridden stuff, not the newer, safer sort. I had a pitcher that was my grandmothers. I've moved so many times, though, I can't seem to find it.

There isn't anything wrong with that. Several of the men in my family go antiquing with their wives. In fact I have an aunt and uncle who I'm pretty sure that's all they have in common that they do together. Other wise she goes to her meetings and he goes hunting and gambling.
