We do. My uniform is soaked by 6:30 a.m. Fortunately, I'm a supervisor and don't have to do manual labor. The junior sailors are the ones really suffering. Painting and grinding and installing furniture. I'm the "mom" and have to make sure they drink water all day long.

I got prescribed Paxil to control my hot flashes. An anti-depressant. Ok... :think: The side affects were worse than the hot flashes. So I flushed the pills down the toidy. I'd rather sweat all night than vomit all night.

UGH!!! Night sweats! Geez, I can't stand it! I've always had hot flashes, ever since I gave birth to my daughter at 19. But they only came with the monthly hell. My last monthly was back in July. The constant hot flashes started in August. Every day, every 2 to 3 hours. I can live with the sweating, but it's the lack of sleep that's getting to me. The doc at work won't prescribe anything that will help me sleep, either. :mad:

I have not had any hot flashes...ever. Had the hysterectomy, so the monthly hell is gone. But I have not slept good for the past year. My doctor prescribed Lunesta, but those don't work on me. Tylenol PM actually does work on me, and I do take it when I finally want a good nights sleep............but I know I can't be taking it regularly. That's just not good for me. I toss and turn so much my poor husband never gets a good night's sleep either.....

That's like when I got prescribed the pill. I spent a whole week feeling nauseous. Then I called the doctor and told him, I felt like I did on my first trimester.

He told me that was the beauty of the pill. It fools your body into thinking you're pregnant. I don't want to feel like I'm pregnant all the time, ESPECIALLY the first trimester, (which is the worst). I threw them away and haven't used them since.

As for night sweats my mother says there is some natural supplement that works great on those. Black Cohosh.

But be warned. Don't overdo the stuff.
