Everybody's leaving? I wanna go on vacation too!
I'm going tubing on the Salt River tomorrow. Like a mini-vacation but I'll be back the same day.
Ron White talked about that in the "Redneck Comedy Tour", the first one. He said he's going down the Salt River, and everybody is drinking beer all day but nobody is getting out of the river to relieve themselves so he figures out that they just go in the river. That's relaxation right there, drinking beer all day and not even getting up to go.
Of course, that doesn't work if you're in a CANOE. :naughty:
I did get a more reasonable sized cooler although it may be a little on the small side. http://www.amazon.com/Kelsyus-80010-Floating-Cooler/dp/B0009KF48O
That's okay though, that'll be more manageable on bus and on the river and besides, since I'm carpooling I don't want to be the fool who shows up with more baggage than Sandy Bergers socks.

They don't call that "Junior High" here, they call it "Middle School" and it's the first time the kids get to pick what they call "Elective Classes". I picked Band (trumpet) and Spanish (it's Phoenix, that's a survival skill) for my two electives back in the day. What did your girl pick?

I took typing in high school. I believe that the teacher passed me more to get me out of her class than for any other reason. Her final comment was that "I lacked any aptitude and ability to type". A fair assesment.:lol:

Here's how it works here.
K-3 Elementary

I never took home economics. It was like false advertising, they call it a class in economics and they don't even teach you how to make money. What they do is they teach you how to cook and how much money can you make knowing how to cook unless your name is Martha Stewart??
Heck, Martha Stewart didn't even make money at cooking, she was trying to make money on stock swindles doing insider trading and maybe if she'd taken a class in economics she'd have learned you don't be doing that or else ya'll go to jail.

Best onstar call I've gotten. Red button was pushed (you know I've got an emergency and need help). They can't hear anything from inside the vehicle, can't get anyone to respond, vehicle is not moving. So we get the GPS of the thing, give it to the officers and they start the search.
Found it on the lift at a repair shop, someone's ass hit the button while they was climbing out of it.

Thing says "Man-Eating"??
Like HECK would that stupid thing ever get to eat a man.
First of all, clams are of the genus mollusca, they are herbivores wholly uninterested in meat and they eat algea for a living.
Secondly, you gotta be the slowest person on the planet when a bivalve shelled critter that makes snails look like NASCAR can catch you and eat you.
Finally, since the kids seem entirely unconcerned about the prospects involved in standing in front of a display of a critter labeled "man-eating" they need some education about warning labels and what they mean.
It's not like they were about to be lunch for an oversized dead crustacean but the principle is still there.

It gets up to about 87° in my house max. I live alone, I go to work and don't spend all that much time during the day so why run the A/C? It won't impress the Gouramis any, they're tropical fish. They like the water warm.
When I was a kid growing up in Phoenix, our house didn't even have air conditioning. It did have a swimming pool though so cooling off basically meant putting on the swimsuit (most of the time, not every time) and going out to the pool to beat the heat.

I read somewhere that after anyone has lived in Phoenix (or similar climates) for two years that their blood actually gets thinner. Increased circulation with thinner blood actually helps make the body natural cooling system (sweating) more efficient but it decreases the ability to withstand cold well.
Interesting factoid about sweating... sweat does not actually smell bad until the bacteria on your skin starts to eat it. This is possibly why women began shaving their armpits, removing the hair so less bacteria would be present and make them stinky. It is definitely why most deodorants have anti-bacterial ingredients in them, typically alcohol or derivative thereof.
Yes, I am a font of useless trivial information.

That makes perfect sense...so does the reverse happen in cooler climates? I wonder as more red blood cells require more oxygen...and cooler climates are usually at higher elevations where the air is thinner...so that could propose a problem unless the body somehow adapts to require less oxygen.
As for the sweat things..makes perfect since given the salt content.

Altitude sickness (Hypoxia) can be a problem once you reach 6,000 feet in Altitude. Two of the radio sites I work on are higher than that, Mt. Ord is 6,100 feet and Towers Mountain is 7,200 feet above sea level. The altitude at which Hypoxia occurs is about 2000 feet lower for women than it is for men, and lower still for smokers than for non-smokers.
The easiest way to describe hypoxia is "stupidity". As your brain has less oxygen to function with, higher level brain functionality becomes more difficult and the brain begins to prioritize between solving the crossword puzzle or breathing.
Commercial aircraft cabin pressurization is typically what you'd find at 10,000 feet of altitude. They figure they don't want to blow out the plane sides like a balloon popping and you're not going to have a track meet in mid-flight anyway so they can get away with risking a little hypoxia in some passengers. They won't notice they're getting stupid if you show them an in-flight movie anyway, especially one starring Al Franken.

The Matrix is a bioelectric machine the chiro hooked up to my back via these rather large suction cups. From there I don't know what it does but it hurts.
I'm so out of commission right now it's not even funny. This is pain unlike any I've ever felt before. :((
That's very Sad...
I did not Know.
I am still not sure what it is or why, but I am Sad for you.
