great!! my daughter is 21, my son is only 18.......believe me, she would get carded way before he would. both my husband and I always looked much younger than we were. the legal drinking age was 18 back in our day, but we both got carded constantly. my son also easily looks 21.

I'm so old, first the drinking age was 18, then it went up to 19 and then eventually 21. The law changed on Sept 1, and my birthday is Oct 30. So October 1980, I could legally drink............until Sept 1, 1981. Then I could not legally drink for two more months. :evil:

I've been having problems with my HughesNet satellite service for about a month now. Sometime around 11am-1pm, the signal goes from strong to dead. The kindly tech support people in India told me that the dish had to have moved out of alignment. I needed to call a tech out to have them check it. They estimated it would cost $300 - $400 for them to look at & repair it. :mad:

Now the fact that it only happened during the heat of the day and then went back to normal told me that my house had actually NOT shifted underfoot. That and the fact that spraying it with a garden hose seemed to get it back to normal as well.

I decided to just go up & have a look at the thing just to see if I could see anything obvious. I took apart the electronics thingy to see if it had moisture in it or something, but it was clean. I then took apart the cover on the very end of it and made a hilariously rapid retreat off the roof & down the ladder after encountering a swarm of wasps!!!

They apparently build & feed the nest during the heat of day and the 15-20 wasps were blocking the signal. That's why the hose worked. I didn't noticed that it chased them off when I sprayed the dish. I gave it a good spray with the hose & now I'm going to have to brave the trip up in the evening & clean it up & seal it. That should be interesting. Before I venture up the ladder, I think I'll pick up my mobile & dial 9 - 1 and hope for the best! :))

I have never been stung by a wasp or a bee in my entire life...and considering how much of my life I've spent outdoors....that's quite amazing.
