It's going good...he just got back monday from a hog hunting trip in Texas..somewhere between Houston and San Antonio. Today he left again...he went up to Ruston where he'll be going to college..staying the night with some friends he made there during orientation and then driving over to Tyler Texas tomorrow and then driving up to Spearman Texas from there. Nice long road trip for him..and his first all by himself. My husband's grandparents live in Spearman and the family's having an 80th birthday/60th anniversary party this weekend for them.
In between all of this traveling he's doing, he's working for me part time as my file clerk. He pretty much sucks at it and spends more time picking on my girls and cutting up than anything... :rolleyes:
he's got a different date practically every night of the week. This whole being 18 thing is interesting..LOL.
He did take me out to dinner last night..I'm going to choose to believe it was because he just wanted to spend some time with me rather than he didn't have a date...:))

Probably standing up. I dunno, it's the sort of thing you just don't ask a guy about. Hopefully he washed his hands afterwards.

Horror story. Ready for a story?

My appointment is for 10 AM and I get to the Dentist's office about ten minutes before the appointment and I'm informed that they can't take appointments because their computer network is down and they expect it to be up in an hour so if I can come back in an hour that would be great.

I still have not figured out what in the heck a computer network can do to prevent simple dentistry activities but apparently that explains why dental hygiene was so lacking in the Old West and in undeveloped nations. Since I only live a half-mile away from the Dentist's Office, I simply returned home and played my Brooks & Dunn music video DVD. I still don't know which one is Brooks and which one is Dunn but I like the songs so that's all that really matters anyway.

After the hour wait is up and I've listened to "My Maria" replayed about three times (I love that song!) I returned to the Dentist Office to learn the happy news that the computer network has been restored and dental efforts were underway. So I waited, and watched the DVD they were playing of "Flushed Away", which is apparently a movie about a mouse who has a really nice smile. He's only got three fingers but he ain't missing even one tooth. I digress.

After a rather lengthy wait of nearly an hour, they call my name and I'm taken back to this chair and a lead smock is thrown upon me in preparation for X-rays. The X-ray technician was pretty much having me do things you couldn't get a circus lion to do with the open... bite... open... bite routine and I noticed that she fled the scene before this "safe" X-ray machine made this fake "BEEEEEEEEE" noise.

I mean come on, I'm a microwave radio technician for pity's sake and that's a radio transmitter. If I had a radio make that noise I'd put it on the bench and tag it out of service because that thing is about to blow up or catch fire to be making stupid "BEEEEEEEEE" noises when it transmits. That ain't natural at all! That's a warning alarm telling people "Get the Hell out of here!" except for the poor patient who bites and opens on command like a trained Circus act of course.

As if that's not bad enough, they mixed up my X-rays. They put this set of teeth from the X-ray machine that didn't even REMOTELY look like mine. I'm talking so many fillings this mouth had been drilled more times than Anna Nicole Smith. My mouth has ONE FILLING and no wisdom teeth. It took another half-hour of playing musical X-rays to get my pictures assembled. They were wanting to shoot me in the head with their "BEEEE BEEEE" gun again and I wanted no part of that. I don't like the idea of glowing in the dark.

After all of this, I got a teeth cleaning from a "Cavitator" which is a device which I'm sure is against the Geneva Conventions if used on a prisoner of war and what it does is hypersonically clean the teeth by making such an annoying racket that the plaque and tartar vacate voluntarily.

Then came the suction and the rinse, and I don't know where they got this anti-bacterial rinse but it makes Listerine taste like a Banana Split in comparison. YUCK!!!

I get out of the appointment late, with teeth vibrated and radiated and bacteria exterminated, and wound up making another appointment for January 16th, 2008.

I've just gotten my first reason to dread next year.

At least you've GOT a real football team! I'm stuck with the forsaken ARIZONA CARDINALS, a team that's made it to the playoffs ONE TIME IN 50 YEARS and when they did finally see the playoffs, they were promptly eliminated in the FIRST ROUND. The only playoff game that's ever happened in Arizona was SUPER BOWL XXX and the Cardinals weren't even involved in that one.

We can't even watch the home games because they never sell out the stadium unless the Cowboys are playing because every football fan in Phoenix with a lick of sense is a Cowboys fan. At least those guys can actually play football good enough that their head coach doesn't get fired every year.

I look at the Head Coach of the Cardinals sort of like the guest star on Star Trek. You know he's about to get whacked. The only difference is nobody is around to say "He's DEAD, Jim!"
