Hey, separated at birth, I'm telling ya!

She'd have told me! Goodlife and I have known each other too long to keep secrets like that.
For example, here's a picture of Goodlife and I standing in front of Big Ben from our secret European vacation.
http://www.mindspring.com/%7Egdoane/_uimages/geneglbigben.jpg
She would have told me about any famous sisters she had on the flight to London, surely!

You do realize now that your "secret European vacation" is no longer secret, right?

possibly..
This is why I love baseball.. http://hannity.com/forum/showthread.php?t=256356
Base ball . . . .
The ball leaves the pitcher's hand . . . .
it flies through the air . . . .
ball and bat make a connection .. . .
ball starts to fly toward the outfield . . .
runner starts toward first base . . .
outfielder starts to run . . .
ball is caught.
Now . . . the ball was HIT by the bat. It was not a foul ball.
In any normal reality that would be a HIT.
but we are talking baseball. Because it was caught AFTER it was HIT . . . no hit is recorded.

We had a world record broken last weekend here in Arizona.
Joey Chestnut, 23, broke the worlds record in a hot dog eating contest consuming 59.5 Hot Dogs with buns in 12 minutes at the Southwest Regional Hot Dog Eating Championship at Arizona Mills Mall on Saturday.
The prior record was 53.75 Hot Dogs in 12 Minutes.
For his valiant gastric prowess, the winner gets a year's supply of Hot Dogs, a free trip to New York City and a $250 gift certificate good at any store in Arizona Mills shopping mall.
So what's a year's supply worth of hot dogs to a guy who can down 60 franks a day? 365 days a year time 60 hot dogs a day... that's 21,900 hot dogs.
Pass the mustard and relish, please. :D

You could write a book about what dispatchers say. It's like they forget they've got a live microphone in front of their face. It doesn't take anything to key a dispatch console, the things are built for talking after all, and off-the-air commentary can easily be on the air by accident of a misplaced foot on a pedal.

Serious questions.....how did you end up with a liberal at one time? Did you compromise for love? Were you not always a conservative?
Thank you in advance for your responses :D
See, personally, I don't think people of opposing political views can really work out if both people take said views really seriously. Unless they really like to argue

My parents are lifelong Republicans but never really talked much about politics because I was always too young to vote when I lived with them. I moved out of my parents house at 17 to join the Navy. I learned a lot about the world then, and a whole lot about people in the stressful situations of military life.
I was always a conservative, but not really conscious of it until I realized how destructive liberals were after learning more about the world.

OK..that makes perfect sense. So it didn't become important to you until you saw the negative aspects of the other side. The dark side so to speak.
Thanks for responding!!
Funny as my husband was a registered democrat when we were dating but a really strong evangelical Christian. Since our first year dating was an election year, it was a prime opportunity to educate him :D. He registered as a democrat as that's what his parents were. Well, he's a Republican now (although in California, that doesn't mean ****) ;)

So I'm supposed to talk about ridiculous?
Okay, so I go to lunch at a Chick-Fil-A in the Scottsdale 101 Mall Plaza, and there's like DOZENS of obviously pregnant women there in line. So I'm like thinking okay, this place serves chicken and ice cream, so that must be it.
They keep walking in though, it's like fertility on parade. 20-30 women in a family way and they keep pouring through the doors looking for lunch.
So I'm thinking that maybe it's the Mayo Clinic down the road, testing out the effects of fast-food poultry on gestation, a digestation gestation study of some sort.
I'm like freaking out here because there's a total crowd of pregnant women and I'm feeling like the potential target of a paternity suit by the end of my chicken sandwich when I see the answer leaving the place. There's a "Babies 'R Us" store right next door and it was attracting the moms-to-be along with their weird appetites.
The old saying is location, location, location for a business. If you're gonna sell fried chicken and ice cream for lunch, heck yes put it next to where expectant women shop. That right there is marketing genius on display.

My parents are also lifelong republicans & they started pumping their values in my brain early on ~ I even remember Rush being on in my mom's car after school from kindergarten on up ~ Then as a adolescent & already being the tomboy, rebel, head banger, skater I added liberal to the list, on politics I just had to go against them(for no good reason), I guess being a typical teenager(thinking you know all) I thank God the liberal part didn't last too long ~ The more realistically I thought about the issues I couldn't stand for the things the liberals/democrat party was about, no matter if I had to agree with my parents on some things & so I made my way back to the RIGHT side the republican party and been here ever since ;)

I always wonder about newbies..especially those that are/were in the Army and bypassed the Corps.
I was in the Navy. We call Marines "Cargo".
Going through Boot Camp was like walking to music for me... literally. I wound up in a marching band because I play a musical instrument, a trumpet, and brass bands and the military... well, you know. I never even made the connection until I answered the question about playing a musical instrument from the Chief and thought it was a weird question for to be asked but the Chief in charge got really happy when I said I could play the trumpet and did. He asked me to do scales and I ran through the Chromatic Scale, scale of C, scale of B-flat and then he took the horn away before I could finish the horn solo from "Lemon Tree". Meanie. I was doing good too, even though the mouthpiece on the horn was smaller than I was used to.
Anyway, I never did wash one dish or peel one potato. Eight years in the United States Military and I washed less dishes than anybody. I was a musician for pity's sake. I can't have my brass-playing fingers soiled with peeling a spud!
Too funny. I didn't plan it that way. I wasn't even going to tell them I played a musical instrument because even being able to read music is like a girly-man thing. I mean, you don't see Rambo grabbing up on any band instruments, right? So that's how I wound up in a boot camp marching band, and went through a kinder, gentler kind of boot camp. Sort of like Paris Hilton in jail but without the news reports.
What was really bizarre was my visit to Spain and they didn't know I spoke Spanish either. I hold a Top Secret security clearance, pass every background check they got, took lie detector tests and they put me in Spain, Malaga Spain and freak out when I start speaking Spanish with the natives after I've had six years of Spanish in school. I didn't tell 'em, I figured they'd have caught that.
So, after their jaws got picked up off the floor, my division officer asked me where I learned to speak Spanish and I told him "Phoenix, Arizona" which is about right because half this town speaks Spanish anyway and I'd have been fluent in the lingo even without the schooling.
It was actually a screwup, I should have played dumb because I got pulled from my duty section and stuck in a dress uniform as a translator for the ship visit formalities. I could have had a lot more fun if they didn't know and really, it wasn't my official duty that I'd signed up for. I was supposed to be a satcom technician working aerospace communications stuff. Not speaking spanish and playing brass instruments.
Heck, I could have joined a Mariachi Band instead of the U.S. Navy.
