I can't speak to Ulead. Never tried it. I've got Corel R.A.V.E. and vector graphics drive me nuts. I don't think in vectors. It takes me about three times longer to make an animation in vectors than it does in simple pictures flip-book style.

The think I like about Animation Shop 3 (and it's associated program Paint Shop Pro) is it draws like I think, basically like a set of crayons, a piece of paper, and go at it. Animation Shop works that way, in fact it would be a piece of cake to actually DRAW a flip-book animation, scan it in and assemble it.

You can even take screenshots and assemble them. Here's one I was working on for an avatar but it was way too ambitious.

That's from the movie "AIRPLANE!" and it's the Nun slapping the "hysterical passenger". That was done with a simple series of screenshots, scaling and Animation Shop but getting it under 5KB proved to be about hopeless.

I'll oppose you on that and here's my reasons why:

These are discussion boards, not an art show and while a picture might say a thousand words they're very difficult to answer, which makes them not very good for discussion in general.

As another point, the Sean Hannity Show is often broadcast on AM radio and reaches rural areas of the nation which don't have Cable or DSL Broadband and so they are limited to dialup access. For that reason there is a vested interest in keeping the board friendly to people at dialup speeds.

As a final point, the vertical resolution of the typical monitor is only 600 pixels tall. This board is optimized for an 800x600 pixel display and if you've got an image 100 pixels tall then you've already blown 17% of the available display on the picture.

This board is first and foremost a discussion board, it's friendly to dialup access and while there are some talented artists here, that's not the talent we're looking for to keep a discussion going. It's a nice addition, don't get me wrong, and I've thrown in my own a time or two but it all boils down to this is a discussion forum, and not an art show.

Have y'all noticed in grocery stores the prices are all bar codes? I bought a comb the other day, 50 cents and the thing had a bar code on it.

This got me to thinking, why isn't money bar coded? The products have been bar coded for ten years at least. The prices aren't even on the products anymore so why hasn't the money been bar coded?

Wouldn't that be fair? The cashier swipes the product bar code to pretend she's ringing up the sale, so you swipe the money bar code to pretend like you're paying cash for it.

Call it paper recycling, one $20 bill could last you for YEARS doing that. :D
