Interesting to see Gambit and Deadpool in the mix....

Read the script, it's all right. Basically a redux of X2.

oh man! I rather see the "real" origin than "weapon X" "Silverfox" story line. oh well maybe next film...

Reynolds as Deadpool? I love it! Voice may not be deep enough, though.

^^^^^^^^ they can alter his voice if need be.

Next time. This essentially covers the same ground as X2, but I'm sure they'll move it to Japan for the sequel.

sequel? i meant the prequel. the real origin. you know about where he got his alias Logan, his discovery of his claws... etc etc.

Hmmm, don't see that happening anytime soon. The next story will likely bridge the gap between Wolverine and X1 OR be a solo Wolverine tale taking place after X3.

how do you feel about an "origins" tv mini-series.
And do you mean the the solo comics set from the 80s? If they are going to do that I might rather see the one with kitty pride.

I can see them doing an "Origins" type thing with a younger actor whenever Jackman decides he's had enough of the character. In terms of the Wolverine sequel (and based on what the producers have hinted) I'm assuming we'll see something based on the Chris Claremont/Frank Miller mini-series from the 80's next.
The first film does film in many blanks left over from the X-Men films, though (why Logan can't remember, why Sabretooth recognizes Logan, etc).

Logan's head was messed with big time by that Psi-borg... so his memory is a mix mash of real and implanted images. which works well with the continuity issues. I would assume that sabertooth's memories have been similarly altered.

In the comics, yeah. The script is more straight-forward/grounded.

I heard there was a story line at one point in the comics--never read them myself--where magneto removeed his adamantium and shopped one of his hands off. SOunded depressing...

He didn't get his hand chopped off...but he did get the metal stripped from his body. I almost cried.

After the metal was stripped, it was discovered that the claws were actually part of his body....forged of very dense bone. He retracted them during a danger room session after the fact. He did get them back...however I had stopped collecting comics by the time that happened.

the issues where it is pulled out is one of the few i still have. and i remember watching when they were selling comics on QVC and the host guy was told about the claws being bone... and kept giving hints and the marvel guy was getting mad.

oh and....
Wolverine , Wolverine
Does whatever a Wolverine can
Kicks some but, any size
cuts enemies with his knives
Look out
Here comes the Wolverine
can he fight, listen Bub!
He's got claws of adamantiuB
he heals fast it is said
that is why he'e not dead
Hey there
There goes the Wolverine
In the thick of a fight
seems like a good time
with a scream of delight
He'll stab you one more time
Wolverine, Wolverine
often cranky Wolverine
challenge him, you're de-gored
stabbing folks is his reward
To him, life is a great big slice-up
Wherever there's a dice-up
You'll find the Wolverine

At the last comic-con, they showed the trailer. There are multiple "bootleg" copies on youtube but the quality was too crappy for posting a link. However from what I did see/hear...NICE, VERY NICE.

Do not forget the official trailer comes out to day. it is showing (in most markets check with your theater) before "the day the earth stood still."
But I am guessing it will be released on line (in good quality) this weekend.

If your an X-men nerd like me you know such things. Plus it helps that in the comics they spell it out as a sound effect. And given that once upon a time in a galaxy far far away (about five years ago) it was actually my username here I know such things. (P.S. To all the retread hunters: the mods are fully aware of this fact. I lost access to the account years ago so I was allowed to start over).

I dunno, as an X-Men fan, I have been underwhelmed by the movies. As a Wolverine fan, I have been disgusted.
I may see the movie, but am more likely to skip it and spare myself further heartburn...
Not so sure about the Watchmen movie either; although the trailers have looked fantastic, I wonder if it will lose as much in the translation as V did...?

I'm concerned they are going to screw up Deadpool because in the one scene I saw with him he had a normal looking face instead of his normal hideous looking burned up face.

when did his face get burnt? I mean we see 'wolverine' before he got the mutton chops and Adamantium.

LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) – "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" made an unauthorized debut online Tuesday, even though the film isn't set for U.S. release until May 1. (http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20090402/film_nm/us_wolverine_1)
Might be neat... apparently the version put online is missing some things.

Gotta see this on the big screen.
The budget for it was like $110-150 million, from what Googling is saying.
A month early unauthorized release + that money... no wonder they're worried.
