A poll for Republicans to gauge the current level of support for each of the candidates here within the Forums.
If you've recently switched from one candidate to another, please let us know.
If you're from Florida, or if you're from one of the Super Tuesday states, please let us know.
If you've just joined the Forums simply to vote in this poll, please go away.

My support is behind Paul.
As it appears that he will not be the nominee, once he drops out, I will support Romney.
Economy, economy, economy.
I do not trust Huck or McCain with the economy.
I have not made my mind up on Rudy. Some days I love him, some days I hate him.

May I stress leaning because I'm really undecided.
I don't like McCain, can't stand Rudy, and consider Huckabee a flash in the pan.
So it's more a process of elimination for me right now.

As most republicans will state…I’m not real thrilled with any of the candidates. I like some of each, and dislike some of each. So given that, I have been, and still am undecided. But looking at it realistically…I’m leaning Romney.
I would hold my nose on the others and make my choice in Nov. only for the fact that Clinton or Obama would, in my mind, be disastrous for this country.

I like nearly all of the Republican candidates although as to be expected I don't support any 100% on everything. The only one who scares me is Ron Paul but I don't think I have anything to worry about. Its a great primary election when most of the candaidate running you wish could all be part of the new administration and you like all of them.
Although I don't usually vote democrat I'm watching the Hillary-Bill gang-up on Obama a lot more closely.

Romney/Gulliani? Too much of a Northeastern emphasis. Plus I doubt Rudy would be content to be second banana.
Romney/Thompson would be good. Or maybe Romney/Huckabee. Lock up the South.

I really do dislike voting against someone instead of voting for another.
But we haven't gotten to a point that we can take what we like from one candidate and give that to another.
Romney is about the economy which is a hugely important issue right now.
McCain is about the WOT which is also hugely important...but I have no faith in him whatsoever beyond that issue.
I think Romney would be more inclined to listen to his advisers. McCain's ego will not allow for such...and then there is the issue of the man's age.
We are tough on our Presidents. All anyone has to do is take a look at them going into the position and then compare that to how they look at the end of 4 years.
I know that last statement regarding McCain isn't PC but it is how I see it. So someone can come along and rip me for it later.;)

Success in all other issues depends on a strong economy.

Yeah, the left can depend on the man with no problem.
I do respect his service and do not for a moment question his patriotism; it's his vision I have a problem with.
Illegal immigration is still a huge problem that has not been addressed. I do not believe McCain is the man to do it.

In my view any of the Republican nominees is a much better choice than what the Dem list looks like. All three are a total disappointment. I won't support any Dem. I never will. Although it has been entertaining to watch the Clintons explode whenever Obama's name is mentioned. Edwards will soon be a non-issue.
I was behind Duncan Hunter from the very start. I also like Rudy. But, the way it looks right now, I think Rudy will drop out shortly after Super Tuesday. There's no reason for him to stay in the race if he can't come in second. That leaves Romney, McCain, Huckabee and Paul. Ron Paul is a strict constitutionalist. That's the only thing I like about him. I disagree on his stance about Iraq. The big issue with me is the fact that Ron Paul is too old and quick tempered. I just don't like the man's personna. In fact, he scares me. I don't like Huckabee on some of his political issues. He's quick witted though and seems like a good man. I just can't support him enough. This leaves Romney and McCain. McCain says he's a conservative, but I have only seen slight indications that he is. Romney is the strongest candidate right now. He's shown he can run the country. He stands more behind my views in politics. I didn't like him at first, but I've since changed my mind about him. I trust him more than I do McCain or Huckabee and I think he will be a good President. I will be voting for Romney when it comes to my state's primary. I can't vote until May 20th. But, I have a feeling by that time Romney, McCain and Huckabee will still be in the race.

Paul of course. While I don't agree with him 100%, I do agree with him on the vast majority of issues. It is nice actually having a candidate I really support as opposed to just a candidate I can tolerate.
I haven't changed my candidate, I think it has been about a year now since I started supporting him. Of course prior to that I didn't even know who he was.
I realize he won't be the nominee, but I think the exposure he gets is still good because it will spread the message of freedom from government out, which may inspire voters to vote for more conservative/libertarian candidates in the future as well as potentially inspire more conservative/libertarian candidates to run seeing the support they can gain. I mean going from a no-name at the beginning of a year to raising nearly 20 million in the last quarter is quite impressive.
It is unfortunate that those who would otherwise support him dismiss him as a kook because of just the war issue, but it can't be helped I suppose. I do find it interesting though, people seem to be willing to sacrifice a lot more of their issues in support of other candidates, but they are unwilling to compromise at all on the war. I'd rather disagree about one issue than a dozen, but then to me the biggest issue is economics and government spending so it is natural I would support the most fiscally conservative candidate.

He regularly accused Huckabee of being at fault for the release of Dumond, something which he had nothing to do with. That was purely the fault of Bill Clinton and Jim Guy Tucker, Romney knew that, and yet he continued to rehash the lie everytime someone'd let him speak.
