What's good tonite?
Well, there's a bit of amusement over liberals being something less than, well, liberal, on several threads today.
It seems like the waterboarding tsunami has crested and our friends from the left are biding their time until the next outrage du jour.

Actually, I was of the impression that when you walked in, a Single Malt Scotch would already be on the bar before you got there.
The barmaid had already poured herself a margarita.
So I was left with fast, friendly, efficient, courteous, self-service.
Again.

She's a quick study and doesn't really fit in any of the molds I see people try to squeeze her in.
Full disclosure: I supported and held fundraisers for Frank Murkowski, her primary opponent and then incumbent governor, largely due to not wishing to upset the oil/gas line development applecart at the time.

There are several liberals here (hat tip to Tzu and 7ranz, for instance) who refused to sell their counter-conscience for cheap political coin.
But there are certainly a murder of them crowing over having their feet held to fire on the same issues they were livid about over the past several years.

We feed people to polar bears.
Two Anchorage teenagers decided - apparently after a long night of drinking - to take a dip in the pool Binky shares with his furry companion, Nuka. Police say the pair snuck into the zoo and were stripping down in front of the cage when Binky showed up and locked his jaws onto one of them. The teen was pulled away by his friend, but not before Binky had left him with leg injuries. Both teens face trespassing and underage drinking charges. Since then, it’s been take-no-prisoners Binkymania. There are jokes - “The state won’t be asking for any jail time for the kid - it already has its pound of flesh.” There are more hot-selling T-shirts - “Binky for Governor: Take a Bite Out of Crime.”
"leg injuries," btw, is a euphemism for involuntary circumcision.

What do you think of Obey's withholding funds from Obama's "Let's Close Gitmo" litany?
President Obama's request for $80 million to close Guantanamo Bay was cut from the House version of a war spending bill unveiled yesterday, CNN reports. Democratic lawmakers, whose bill totaled $94.2 billion, said if the president wants money to close Guantanamo Bay then he'll first have to come up with a plan for doing so.
And (here's your Chris Matthew's softball question, P) are you surprised that liberals on this forum aren't having a vigorous discussion over the party split?

Simple or Stupid, they don't see it coming.
They certainly didn't see it coming when they spent the past half-decade raising the roof over issues they are now forced to defend.
When I first wandered wide-eyed into these forums the stentorian tantrums of the left over warrantless wiretapping, signing statements, rendition, presidential designation of enemy combatants, calls for impeachment, irritation over potential telecom immunity, suspension of habeas corpus and a host of other outrages was on bold display.
Today? They've become professional parsers and apologists of the worst sort.
Sad, how far the counter-conscience of a nation has sunk.

Sorry I've been in the hospital 4 times in the past 3 months. I had Congestive Heart Failure, then I went for a Angioplasy (twice), than back in for a check up due to a hemotoma that developed in my leg.
Well after all that I'm fine and back at work. Now I have to do pennance (Cardio Rehab) for the sin of freebasing Cheddar all those years.........
Good Grief man!
It is good you are doing better!

Sorry to hear that old friend.
Glad to hear you're doing better. This place isn't the same without you.
Thanks. I have been running on 45% capacity for years, now after 6 stints I have 80% very different, I will be getting stronger with the rehab.
Did I mention I found out I have sleep apnea? They tested me for that also. So I guess its a wonder I made it this long :)

I try to sleep as much as I can but that usually gives me 4 or 5 hours then I would wake up. According to the Doc I am not getting deep sleep, which explains why I went crazy years ago :)):shifty:
