Yeah, I did the midnight shift for nearly 8 years back in the 90's. Hated it then; and I still detest it. I may not have the seniority to make days, but I definitely have enough to stay off the midnight shift. This little work slow down is beginning to tick Me off.

I could understand that if the shift premium were significant but 2nd shift is really a day shift, except that you work in the evening instead of the morning. And I get to spend nights at home with My wife instead of sleeping alone.

Face it. People who work day shifts usually get up around 5 or 6 am and most people I know, they don't usually get to bed much before midnight. Second (for Me is I get up at 8:30 am and get to bed (when I'm being good) around 1am. Of course, I'll have to start getting up at 6:30 am since I just learned that I was hired for that part-time (leading to a full time, morning/day shift with a way better retirement package) job I applied to. So, sleep is going to get even more scarce. Hmm.....Something didn't work our right in this deal.

How'd that happen?
