A beauty too. Spent a fun night there waiting for Bonds to break a record last summer. Garlic fries were the only mood killer. Totally yucky smell.

Today's topic: long commutes and soaring gas prices....:evil:
I don't have too far to commute. Approx. 28 miles one way. The wife does 40 one way but the prices are starting to be felt thats for sure.

Mine is 38 one way but add Bay Area traffic and that can translate anywhere from 45 minutes (rarely) to 2 hours. The happy medium is usually 60-75 minutes. I don't have the most economical car either but it's paid for :D

I only ask that as Mel has had to take her dog into the vet twice and my dog has had to go in three times in the past three months....with her cummulative bill for those three visits hitting the four figure mark :think:

My dog's leg was broken when he was just a pup. Cost $500 to put a pin in his leg. Another $150 to get it out and followups. I've had people tell me that was cheap, usually costs $800+ just to pin the leg.
Oh, and he's fine now btw. He's 4years old.

That's completely reasonable....young dog, whole life ahead. I would have done the same.
I had a friend who spent $6000 on bilateral knee replacements for her pit mix....the dog was 2 and is now 4 and doing well. She borrowed the money from her sister :think:

I'd pay anything for my pets.....they count too much on me for me to ever let them down and for me not to do all that I can do to make them safe and well and comfortable. One thing about living where I live, Texas A&M is not too far away....best vet school in the country....if your regular vet is perplexed w/ the condition of your animal, they will send you on to A&M...I had one poor little sick kittie a few years back and she and I made a couple trips into College Station. She (sadly) finally did pass away....but damn, I tried. I tried..................:(

just looked at most of them melinda, I'll get back to Petra in a few minutes. great pictures can't wait to see the rest. I've been staying real busy too, just working in the yard planting plants and flowers and stuff, I planted a palm tree yesterday, and it rained here most of the day, but I got most of the leaves picked up. the flowers here are beautiful this time of year.

It's fun to get all that yard work done this time of the year, isn't it?
I've got palm trees in my yard, too. We used to always cut the dead leaves off until we found out that by doing so, it will make the trees grow even faster. Now we just let them fall to the ground..........

It's fun to get all that yard work done this time of the year, isn't it?
I've got palm trees in my yard, too. We used to always cut the dead leaves off until we found out that by doing so, it will make the trees grow even faster. Now we just let them fall to the ground..........
I found a palm floating on the beach after a hurricane and took it home and planted it in the front yard it's about 15 feet tall now!
