Before you start bringing charges of treason upon me, I gotta say I'm not so sure God blessed Texas, but the people are sure blessed.

And of course the Tex Mex. Can anyone say Chuy's?

I've got lots of family and great friends down there and am hoping to get back for a visit this summer.

I pray it won't be over 80 degrees, can't take that kind of heat anymore. I'm guessing that prayer won't be answered though.

Even if you're not an Aggie, a big Gig 'Em to all.......

Good for your kids, I hope they're enjoying A&M. As for as UT, (no I don't say tu), both my dad and my sister (graduate school) went there. That was my first choice, but my dad vetoed that idea cuz he thought I'd spend more time on 6th street than in the library.

My immediate family is still in Plano, just north of Dallas and I have many cousins in Houston and Spring.

And besides some good Tex Mex, I'd really love some chicken fried steak...........

my daughter started out at UT, but she hated Austin. We live out in the country, she went to a small high school. Austin was a bit overwhelming for her. She really loves College Station. She lives close to the mall. My son lives close to Kyle Field. I'm glad you don't say tu...I am a firm believer in the fact that you can support and cheer for your school w/out cutting down another. I hate the "saw 'em off" t-shirts and bumper stickers that seem to be everywhere...and not just b/c I am a Longhorn...I just don't like those.

You guys are hitting close to home for me. I grew up in Richardson, just on the north side of Dallas, and just a few years ago, my folks and sister moved to Tyler.

Was in Houston last August for technical training. Pretty darn nice city IMO. One of the fellas from the class and I caught a ball game. Minutemaid was one of the neatest baseball park I've been to. The only thing that totally threw me off was the beltway inside of the circle freeway. Try running a mapquest of where you want to go, and it will send you half the way around the circle freeway going in the wrong direction!

Was in Houston last August for technical training. Pretty darn nice city IMO. One of the fellas from the class and I caught a ball game. Minutemaid was one of the neatest baseball park I've been to. The only thing that totally threw me off was the beltway inside of the circle freeway. Try running a mapquest of where you want to go, and it will send you half the way around the circle freeway going in the wrong direction!

I know exactly what you mean about the 610 Loop and then the Beltway....confusing doesn't even begin to cover it.

my daughter started out at UT, but she hated Austin. We live out in the country, she went to a small high school. Austin was a bit overwhelming for her. She really loves College Station. She lives close to the mall. My son lives close to Kyle Field. I'm glad you don't say tu...I am a firm believer in the fact that you can support and cheer for your school w/out cutting down another. I hate the "saw 'em off" t-shirts and bumper stickers that seem to be everywhere...and not just b/c I am a Longhorn...I just don't like those.

Plus my niece was in a car accident over the weekend...passenger with 2 other teenagers...wasn't wearing a damn seat belt :wall: and was ejected in the crash. She is alive with no brain, spinal or internal injuries...but she tore up her leg really badly...needs rods put in plus skin/tissue grafting...
