Take this little tidbit of information from me as I have just recently learned this the hard way.....

jellybeans and toothpaste do NOT go good together. really.

Depends of what kind of jellybeans....black licorice is not a wise choice after a mint toothpaste, but purple and green jellybeans are...

Or...just take a real coffee bean (unground, of course), put it between your cheek and gums ala Walt Garrison/Earl Campbell, and enjoy...I still do that....

Kinda sucks when one needs glasses...to see what's going on one must ...er...dork out by wearing specs during the process...removing specs to fully enjoy makes it so I can't see what's going on...kinda Catch 22..

And I can't wear contacts....and if we get close enough to said mirrors to actually see what's going on, we smear the glass with cheek prints anyway, so its all kinda moot.

I'm not getting one anymore.
My husband has changed his mind......again.
I won't even discuss it w/ him. We have decided to now stay in this house since it's been remodeled for the most part.
My son, who was going to get this house, is now going to build what my husband refers to as a "barnaminium". He's going to build a shop where he can work on and store all the cars that he messes with. He's going to add a "living quarters" to his shop.
I'm staying put. My husband is so damn lucky I am as easy going as I am.
He remodeled the bathroom while I was in South Africa, but now he wants to change out the tub and vanity tops. (they weren't in w/ the remodeling) I told him to do whatever he wants....I'm planning another vacation so I won't have to be here to deal with any of it. :))

My wife rearranged the furniture while I was out on a short road gig (6 nights)...I got back at 3:15AM, and being the kind soul I am, didn't turn on any lights as to not disturb her when I came in...

What did disturb her was the screaming for mercy after tripping over every piece of furniture in the dark, falling face down, jamming my toe into a sofa leg on the way down....

That was the last time the furniture was moved without a lot of prior planning, forethought, and coordination.

no sir...never...no one willingly becomes a damnyankee....

Its a slow and methodical process...its starts off innocently enough with going to Starbucks, then Barnes and Noble...next thing ya know you got courdoroy patches on your sleeves and wearing penny loafers, and the old corn cob pipe has been replaced by some meershaum or other oddity...

Then you trade in your truck for a Volvo, and the transformation is almost complete.

It happened to my sister...seriously. I love her and admire her to death, but dayum...

NO ONE would ever trade in a truck for a Volvo..............NO ONE. That's just so wrong on so many levels.

and I love my Barnes and Noble.....my husband keeps trying to explain to me that there are these places called "libraries" where I can borrow the books for free...but my mind just doesn't comprehend that. I have to OWN the books....I love books and I love to read. Gotta love http://www.barnesandnoble.com and UPS!!!

no...I haven't. In terms of the "classics", I am not well-read at all. I read for pleasure, for distraction, to get me away from real life for a while. So if a book is going to beat me over the head with a message, or if the story doesn't keep me engaged, I don't enjoy it and I don't want to read it.

My big area of concentration is science-fiction. GOOD science fiction, that is. Asimov and Heinlein are my personal favorites. Insofar as you can claim any "classics" in that genre, I am fairly well-read in those. Then, while not classics, I like the series novels from the Star Trek and Star Wars genres. I also like Tom Clancy's novels (the original series, not the derivatives). I've read (and loved) Tolkien (though in general I am not a big fantasy fan), and if I can ever get a copy I want to read the Narnia books.

Oh yeah...what I'm reading now...well, my other vice is the Harry Potter series. :shifty: I am re-reading number 7 now. And I find it a damn shame that the movies depart from the books as much as they do.

you ought to try them. The first 2 are definitely written at a lower level...I got through 1 and 2 in about 3 hours each. 3 took a little longer, but it wasn't terribly long, and the level was a touch higher. Starting with 4, the storyline gets much more dark, much older.

When the later books were first coming out, we would order 2 copies, I would (by virtue of my position in the family :)) ) grab one and let the girls fight over the other one. They didn't fight long, though...I read fast, and the long novels took me about 24 hours of reading time each, so I'd finish in a weekend usually and hand it over.
