Just curious as to how others here would answer this.

There is no question about it for me - it would be my t.v. - I wouldn't miss it at all.

Wasn't forced too, but made the decision to give up my tv last spring. I watch shows online now if I want to see them. Still have the TV for games and DVDs, but don't really miss it.

No doubt about it - TV. There's very little on TV that isn't accessible on the computer these days.

T.V. as I watch the vast majority of my shows on Hulu and other sites like that anyway.

I don't have a computer at home, so the answer is simple for me - the computer!

My bullets first, then you would have to pry my compute and TV from my cold dead hands.

TV for sure.
It will save me about 85 bucks a month

TV, I could just watch everything I already watch on my PC anyway. My TV mainly just works as a display for what I play on my PC anyway.

TV gone.

There are shows I would miss, but I would get over it.

You often wonder how far down the road television will be able to continue (or at least chop their cable prices).

I frankly was never a big t.v. watcher (I would say I would watch about 1 or 2 hrs. a week). I am in amazement when I hear people paying unbelievable monthly prices for cable t.v.

My computer. I keep running into all these Hannity members on it.

I call the TV the "life sucker". Wouldn't miss it for a minute.

TV... All I'd miss out on is sports, if there's a game I want I'll hit the bar

My main TV isn't a TV at all in the normal sense. The real TV's I have don't really get watched much if at all.

I've got a DLP projector mounted to the ceiling and the tuner for it is a DVR hooked to cable. On the rare occasion something I want to watch is televised, I tend to pre-record it because the commercials are just disgusting and I want to get past them.

I really don't want some guy in my living room telling me about his E.D. and I don't want some strange woman telling me about the days she just feels not so fresh. I don't need that bubbly ditz from Progressive and I don't really care for that dumb talking Aussie gecko either.

I think about 1/3 of the time watching is wasted by junk I really do not want to see or hear about. If I'm wasting 33% of my time I'll find something better to do.

Like post on Hannity.

Yeah, for a lot of people with computers, giving up the TV isn't really giving up anything.

I have to wonder, in this age of DVR's and internet broadcasts, how much longer traditional television will be viable. We have an increasing capacity to skip the very commercials that fund the shows we watch - I don't see how such acts can be viable in the long run.

Either television will have to start relying more on in-show product placement, or show related merchandising perhaps? I don't know.

Since BSG is over, I have no reason to watch TV. Good bye TV :)

Exactly, you can watch TV on your computer so I'd ditch my TV....:)....

I'd give up the TV. Don't watch that much anyway and certainly very little on regular broadcast channels.

Unfair question!

The sample is biased by virtue of the question being asked on an internet message board.

But yeah, TV out the window for sure.

Who's doing the forcing exactly? My answer will depend upon this. If it is my spouse, I'd give up the computer because I do spend a lot of time on it, and you can't really snuggle in front of a computer. If it was the government, I wouldn't give up either. If I was held at gunpoint by a robber I'd give up my T.V. because it's sooo huge and heavy he would break his back trying to haul it away. Then I would push him over and call the police.

ETA: Too many people are willing to give away their property willy nilly no questions asked.

:)) All great points. Well, the gecko's kind of cute.

As a lover of movies and since I paid much more for my TV than I did my computer, well I'll choose the TV. Not to mention with my PS3 I can get on the internet from my TV or from my iPhone.

TV for sure.
It will save me about 85 bucks a month

The way my bundle is set up (tv, phone and cable) with my cable speed, it would actually cost me more in the long run to have either one disconneted.

Having said that - other than my PS2 (this includes DVD videos), I don't think my TV has been on for more than 20 hours in the last year.

This is like asking if one would rather give up fingernail clippers or a swiss army knife.
