5 Arrested for Breaking into Navy Base

Five people, all of them nuclear war protestors, were arrested for breaking into a Naval nuclear base in Wash State. What is surprising, is the fact they all ranged in age from 60 + up to the 80's. What if this were a Red Cell type of group, instead of a few "old-timers". Seems like we might be in some trouble security-wise...

I don't think you understand my point. I understand the protestors are stuck in the '60's, but if it was so easy for them to infiltrate the base, at 0200 hrs, no less, what does that say for security at the base? I spent 8 years in military security, when I was in, and I can say, we took our security seriously. A well-disciplined unit could wreck havoc at a place like that. That Base Commander should be relieved of command.

I feel VERY confident in stating that there was never any possibility that they would get near any nuclear weapons. The defenses are layered. The fact that there were only a few of them wandering around lost is probably why they evaded detection so long - if anyone saw them, they probably just thought someone was giving their grandfolks a tour.

At 2 am? I don't think so. They got close enough. They made it as far as the fences around the Strategic Weapons Facility where the nuclear weapons actually were. That's too damn close IMHO.
