I applaud the religion of peace for this ruling.
I'm sure our usual Islamic apologists will join me in this.
Let's hear it, Guys.

Saudi court upholds child rapist crucifixion ruling
Tue Nov 3, 2009 2:22pm IST
RIYADH (Reuters) - A Saudi court of cassation upheld a ruling to behead and crucify a 22-year-old man convicted of raping five children and leaving one of them to die in the desert, newspapers reported on Tuesday.
The convict was arrested earlier this year after a seven-year old boy helped police in their investigation. The child left in the desert after the rape was three years old, Okaz newspaper said.
International rights groups have accused the kingdom, the birthplace of Islam, of applying draconian justice, beheading murderers, rapists and drug traffickers in public. So far this year about 40 people have been executed in Saudi Arabia.
In Saudi Arabia, crucifixion means tying the body of the convict to wooden beams to be displayed to the public after beheading.

I would say that what IT did is something to lose your head over. It couldn't happen to a more deserving critter.

It is only really brutal and disgusting because it was a public execution. I really have no problem with hearing of child rapists being executed. And you cannot call it cruel as long as the axe or whatever was sharp.

And in the Judeo-Christian tradition, a rapist could be awarded with marriage to the victim.

While I am not sure that I would personally go watch an execution, public execution lets the public see what happens to the worst miscreants and proves that justice was administered far better than hearing about it on the radio or reading it in the paper. The state mandating that all citizens watch the execution would be WRONG.

That's just stupid. They OUGHT to crucify the person first, and THEN when they are just about dead behead them. Maximum suffering AND public spectacle.

I don't know about that.
Child rapists and murders make me question my stance on torture. They should be fed alive to wild dogs. Or at the very least have to sit in a room alone with the parents of the deceased.

I have no qualms about using torture as punishment. Rape is a crime that should be punished by torture. Only the sickest people would be repeat offenders if they were tortured.

Hence why I argue the crucifixtion part should come BEFORE the beheading.

Nothing cruel or unusual. I have witnessed video of such an education. Instant decapitation. No different from the effects of a guillotine.
Beheading by sword is no different from the use of the guillotine.
As for the crucifix. Well, their culture encompasses public viewing of the body. I need not point out that public viewing existed in Europe and colonial America. No foul.

True, but they existed up until the early 20th Century in some parts of America.
For hundreds of years it was a common event to have a family picnic at executions.
Also, I don't see decapitation as any less humane as the electric chair, gas chamber, or lethal injection. If anything, I find the more 'humane' methods to be creepy--an efficient, painless, clinical method of execution creeps me out.

How does this show that it's a cultural difference? The punishment for rape under Islam is death.

And in the Judeo-Christian tradition, a rapist could be awarded with marriage to the victim.
This verse of the Bible is poorly translated. The verse is not about rape, it is about a man having a sexual relationship with a virgin he is not married to. She and her father have the right to either demand marriage or demand her dowry from the man. According to Jewish law, the dowry is $30,000 - $60,000 in US currency.
--------------------------------------
"Exodus 22:17 from the JPS bible, (Jewish translation which is much better then NIV) since we are dealing with a Jewish answer:
And if a man entice a virgin that is not betrothed, and lie with her, he shall surely pay a dowry for her to be his wife. If her father utterly refuse to give her unto him, HE SHALL PAY MONEY ACCORDING TO THE DOWRY OF VIRGIN. "

ITs a shame that the Saudis dont have the guy die by a thousand cuts.
I am sick to death of these perverted monsters preying on our innocent.
Kill the scum bags slowly as possible over a period of days, if not weeks and keep him conscious through the whole thing.
Maybe barbarity can keep these vermin under the rocks they belong under, too afraid to risk such unspeakable crimes.
If so, then lets be barbaric as possible.

Good.
If we'd do that here there'd be a lot less of those bastards allowed to share our oxygen.
