Anyone catch this....This is some of the most heartless **** I have ever heard...
A 3 and 2 yr old were left alone while the mother and their aunt went out to go drop off a friend....
The 3yr old died and the 2yr old is in critical condition
And the only thing the aunt is worried about is her purse that held her food stamp card

Very ignorant woman, she didn't even regret leaving the kids alone, and is just worried about her purse and foodstamps?

That woman's judgment that it is OK to leave toddlers at home unattended is criminal insanity. I suspect they weren't taking a friend home. They were probably going out to score some crack rocks.

I hope they rot in jail a good long time.
And why exactly does it take two people to take a guy that just "cut your grass" back home?
Something fishy here.

Maybe she wanted to roast hot dogs and marshmallows while the coals were still hot.
I'm sure she was concerned about her purse for other reasons besides the food stamps.
Her crack pipe was in there, her list of Johns, her probation officer's business card, stuff that you don't really admit to on the evening news.

Did anyone watch the YouTube "response" from the dude with the glasses and beard (electronic effects to hide his real face).
To his credit he does say she was an idiot, but he lays the REAL blame for this on the media. You know, because they could have edited that out if they had wanted to. He claims it's another attempt by the media to make black folks look bad - considering the reporter was black, I'm not so sure that's a good arguement.

My jaw is still on the floor upon hearing the 'aunt' make that statement about her purse! I mean come on...gotta be kidding me!:wall:
Granted, in the beginning of the YouTube link we are shown a woman in absolute torment; screaming and near falling to the ground in agony. I'm guessing she's 'mom'. Media couldn't speak to mom or mom was unable/unwilling to speak to the press...so they go to the next person on the list..this woman who calls herself 'aunt'. Her (the aunt) demeanor was such that it suggested a laiz a faire attitude over the whole affair. What I saw and heard wasn't shock...it was pure selfish pursuit of 'me me me first'. Makes me sick.
I have to agree with Mr. Shot on his post as well....The police spokesmen was black, the firefighters were black as was the reporter. There is a shot of the camera that looks into one of the firefighters faces that says it all...the full scope of human emotion laid bare on his face. No...this wasn't the media's attempt to 'make' black people look bad. This was an absolute selfish idiot caught in it's natural form on film for all to see. Actually imo, the color of this 'aunt' doesn't even apply when speaking to this type of idiot the story exposed....they seem to run rampant within all colors, races and creeds.
Those poor babies...Dear Lord...what a horrific death. I can't even think about what it must have been like for either of them without tearing up and wanting to smack those two woman for leaving children alone for something as stupid as (aunt's words here) "giving some dude a ride home". :rolleyes

Whole heartily agreed....
My heart broke as I watched that young man's face.
I know there is no answer to what I'm about to prose as a questions....but...What in the heck is wrong with people anymore? :wall: Who on earth thinks it's ok to leave two babies home alone for ANY length of time? I don't care if those two babies were fast asleep in their little beds..it shouldn't matter! And who on earth needs two people to give 'some dude a ride home'? Why was giving some 'dude' a ride more important then doing your job as a human being and mother to two children?
Just boggles the mind...breaks the heart...and all some can do is worry how this story may appear upon a race of people? Yeah...worlds gone nuts....no doubt about it now.

Wouldn't she...or should I say couldn't she be charged with child endangerment that ended in death of a child? Not to mention a charge of child endangerment for the child that lived..that will undoubtedly have emotional as well as physical trauma's for the rest of it's life to contend with? Shouldn't child protective services take the child that lived into protection until a full investigation can be done?
As for that Aunt...I don't know what to say about her. Those children were not her's...she was more concerned about her own purse/food stamps/etc then the death of one of her nephews! I mean for Gods sake! Can she be charged with anything? I'm asking as I don't know if there is something she can be charged with in connection to this crime...
I do have to wonder....how did that damn fire start anyway?

Both babies died. :( The aunt was arrested for an outstanding theft charge and driving on a suspended license. This story claims they were shopping. In the first video they were dropping someone off. Get your story straight, idiot.

That woman should be left in the street chained to a HUGE projection screen playing that video over and over again.

both died. the 3 year old shortly after the fire, the 2 year old about a week later. They probably could charge mom with endangerment as it relates to the death of both kids.

I was hoping, before I watched the video, that those kids died in their beds, without knowing what happened. But a couple people said they heard screams coming from the house.

There's absolutely no excuse for what these women did in leaving preschool kids unsupervised, and no excuse for what the aunt said, but the media does come off as a bit opportunistic too.
They know this woman just lost family and the ghouls are shoving cameras and microphones in her face? Heck, as cold-blooded as the woman was, she's got nothing on these insensitive jerk reporters. Where's the ethics in journalism anymore? Is there nothing off-limits and so indecent that reporters aren't willing to do it for a lousy five minutes of sensationalism on the evening news?

The aunt said that she did not regret leaving the children alone. After all she said, they don't know how the fire started... if the kids started it or if someone threw something on fire into the house.
The way this woman is reacting I'm wondering if she was the one who set the fire... seriously there is something very wrong with the lack of emotional response to what happened to these children.
So why did both of the women have to go to give the guy a ride? One could have stayed with the kids.
When my kids were small, I never left them along...NEVER.
IMHO, what these women did was criminal neglect.

Thank you Mimi and Hadassah for clearing up that both children have passed on. I missed that one. I only watched the one video...and just couldn't go hunting for more information on the story after watching it. I believed one child was still alive and in hospital. That both are gone just places a stone in my stomach and an ache in my heart.....
As for the Aunt..unrelated charges still? :wall: That's it? All of this is going to come down upon the mother isn't it?;... rightfully so as she had the ultimate responsibility to keep those babies safe. That that Aunt is going to skate on through this horrific and painful death of her nephews without being held somewhat or partly accountable just steams my veggies! Have they charged the mother yet with anything? Have they figured out how that darn fire started? Lock her up and throw away the key. The pain she's feeling over the loss of her two boys isn't enough imo...not when she could have stayed home...kept them safe and sound...done her damn job as a mother! (sorry...ranted a bit)
I'll keep both those babies in my prayers tonight; knowing they no longer suffer or are in pain...as Sircharliebrown said it..in the hands of their maker. No better place right now for two sweet babies imo.

The aunt said that she did not regret leaving the children alone. After all she said, they don't know how the fire started... if the kids started it or if someone threw something on fire into the house.
The odds are pretty good that the kids set the fire themselves. Ages 3-5 are about the age that kids get curious about fire and juveniles account for over half of all arson arrests in the United States.
The way this woman is reacting I'm wondering if she was the one who set the fire... seriously there is something very wrong with the lack of emotional response to what happened to these children.
Frankly, I think she was looped, stoned out of her ever-lovin' mind on crack.
So why did both of the women have to go to give the guy a ride? One could have stayed with the kids.
I've got a better question than that. Why would women go driving off with some guy they only knew as "some dude" who mowed the yard? If they both went to have safety in numbers (harder to rape, rob or kill two folks) then why give the guy a ride in the first place?
Heck, I'm a pretty big guy myself and I wouldn't go giving rides to total strangers, especially not in a dangerous slum hellhole like those women lived in. If the dude didn't have a car before, he will after he carjacks ya.
When my kids were small, I never left them along...NEVER.
IMHO, what these women did was criminal neglect.
I think the Mother is definitely prosecutable for child endangerment/manslaughter but the Aunt isn't lawfully responsible for the welfare of those children unless she agreed to watch them and obviously she didn't.

I was at least 12 years old before I was allowed to stay home by myself.
I was about 14 when my parents decided that I was old enough to watch my three younger brothers (then 12, 10 and 9 years old). My little brothers called me a Nazi because I kept the rules exactly the same as if Mom and Dad were right there because if I didn't, I'd be in just as much trouble as them when the 'rents found out.
