Doug Hoffman in NY 23

Have you all heard about this guy? He's the Conservative Party candidate running in the special election up here

The Republican nominee is pro-abortion and pro-gay marriage but was nominated because "she could win". Doug is anti-abortion and anti-gay marriage, plus he's an accountant and not a politician

Makes me sick! Go Doug! Anyone here from that district?

I'm guessing that is what type of conservative you are talking about. Some conservatives don't see the same-sex marriage issue or abortion as a federal government undertaking, but an issue left to the states. From there, you have some cons that don't think it's any business of the governments at all. Conservatives should be about government not making the choices for the masses and mandating an agenda, but being as minimal in scope as possible.

Anyway, there have been many threads on Hoffman on this forum. There is a lot of support for him on this board.
